Good news coming this week for Michigan Football.
I know on a quiet Saturday night there is nothing better than speculation if you are stuck inside.
Allan Trieu of scout just tweeted this message:
Good news coming this week for #Michigan
I know Thompson and Godin are next week, what are you best guesses?
Good news????? Maybe it is Wormley, Day, Diamond and Kiel!!!!!! That would be great news IMO

April 30th, 2011 at 11:02 PM ^
Isn't Zeke Pike from Kentucky? Maybe he changed his committment? if this is a real hint only person I can think of is Zeke

Chris Barnett after discussion of good things happening soon:
@TomVH i have belief in a kid from kentucky
April 30th, 2011 at 10:13 PM ^
i wonder if it's Zeke again
April 30th, 2011 at 10:14 PM ^
Very intriguing. Don't know what else he would mean. He and Zeke are supposed to be friends.
April 30th, 2011 at 10:16 PM ^
Godin and he said thats not who he was talking about and i just looked at the prospects from kentucky and only Zeke makes sense
April 30th, 2011 at 10:18 PM ^

Sneaky ass kids and their secrets...j/k
April 30th, 2011 at 10:32 PM ^
I can't handle all of this speculation and excitement, I NEED TO KNOW!
April 30th, 2011 at 10:43 PM ^
he said he tries to get kids to commit before they get too solid
April 30th, 2011 at 10:21 PM ^
To continue the tradition of taking two players at the same position around the same time, Zeke is decommiting from Auburn to commit play LB (he also plays LB in high school) at Michigan.
Oh yea, and there will be flying pigs.
If it really is Zeke, then that probably means bad things are coming Auburn's way.
On Scout, Pike's a 5*, the number 3 QB in the country. He's the only Kentucky player with a Michigan offer.
The next best player is Patrick Towles, a 3*, number 23 QB.
April 30th, 2011 at 10:13 PM ^
Lloyd Carr redux, assisting with the defense.
April 30th, 2011 at 10:16 PM ^
Im not going to worr about it then because I know in the next couple weeks we should be getting a couple solid recruits. If so, I like the way Hoke and Co. have been recruiting so far.
But then again...the curiousity if getting to me!
April 30th, 2011 at 10:39 PM ^
With so many Ohio DEs expressing interest in Michigan lately, I'm guessing that one of them decided it was time to get on board.
I'm starting to wonder if Michigan is going to have a numbers problem with this class. It's a good problem to have, I grant.
EDIT: Another possibility: We're getting a pony!

I've tried about analyzing the cryptic undertones of this comment and don't even know where to begin.
April 30th, 2011 at 11:24 PM ^

Just post the information without permission. Who's gonna mind?
/BOOM. Dayton Daily News'd
The Tom has spoken. All praise the Toooommmm!!!
Do either of these have any connection to the silent commit?
April 30th, 2011 at 10:34 PM ^
Well said Tom. Thanks for being clear in the matter. Like always, great work.
April 30th, 2011 at 10:37 PM ^
Jim - Are you getting a great recruit this week Brady?
BH - "There's no question Jim."

Formalities:
Long time reader first time poster. Really enjoy the information and commentary.
As far as who the Good News could be, first who its not. Godin and Thompson will be nice additions but not next week as they have both already setteled on a later date to announce. While Pharoh Brown would be a nice addition he does not quite warrant the "Best in the Midwest" comment that Trieu suggested. Gunner would be amazing, but he really didnt let on like he was ready to commit, especially for a kid with his talent that hasnt taken too many visits as of yet. Gunner wont be for a while. Diamond could be in my estimation a silent commit type as he has eluded to the fact that his late decision time table and plethora of visits to the South is more for his high school teammates to gain exposure. This finally comes down to Ross, Wormley, or Day. Hopefully all three will eventually be in the class but my guess would be Day.
Is it positive that "Good News" is a commit? Possibly a confirmed visit from say . . . Dunn??
April 30th, 2011 at 10:45 PM ^
I think I remember hearing Day was going to commit much later. Now that Joe committed there is no real reason for Ross to go so quick.
April 30th, 2011 at 11:00 PM ^
HOWEVA for the guy CBarnett was talking about...he mentioned Kentucky, big time, and that it wasnt Goldin. Sounds like Zeke but I just cant picture him flipping so quickly.
If I understand right one should be sometime mid week of this week and the other should be in about 2 weeks?
April 30th, 2011 at 10:50 PM ^
Did anyone ever hear how Mattison's visit w/ Bri'onte Dunn went or if it even happened?
April 30th, 2011 at 11:12 PM ^
Is that slang for the valley or ghetto ?
April 30th, 2011 at 11:14 PM ^
Wormley, Diamond, Ross, Kiel...
Can't believe it would be Pike...I mean, he just committed! But Kentucky...is there anyone else we are recruiting from there?
Well, this at least makes this weeks anticipation level skyrocket...always fun!
April 30th, 2011 at 11:18 PM ^
take a look at the kids from kentucky http://recruiting.scout.com/a.z?s=73&p=9&c=11&cfg=null&yr=2012&pid=-1&s…
April 30th, 2011 at 11:24 PM ^
Hmm only one name from there sticks out. Maybe he means Ohio, or Michigan...or Maryland? All signs point to Pike! But its just too hard to believe.
April 30th, 2011 at 11:25 PM ^
anyone else because he supposively has connections to Zeke and he said Kentucky a bunch of times
But Pike just committed. If he flipped I can't see it being this soon. Did't he also want eraly playing time? If DG gets a redshirt for last year Pike probably wouldn't start until 2015. The only way he could start sooner is if DG gets injured or Pike beats him out.
Auburn has a 5 star QB that was in their recruiting class last year. Pike would have competition regardless of the school he signs an LOI with.
The check Pike received from Auburn must have bounced. He's going Blue now!!!
Those Auburn paying player jokes get old pretty quick and I dont even like Auburn.
When Zeke Pike committed to Auburn everyone was quick to jump on him like "Auburn must be paying you good money" and I all I could think of besides classless was good luck trying to get him to switch commitments.
Kiehl Frazier is arguably higher regarded than DG, and is one year younger. Frazier is going to the same spread offense he was recruited for at Auburn. Meanwhile, Michigan is switching offensive philosophy away from a spread offense - the only thing DG has ever played. Neither KF nor DG have played yet. DG has 3 or 4 years left. KF has 4 or 5.
I'd say, given the facts of the situation, Michigan is a better opportunity for early playing time for a 2012 recruit than Auburn...but we'll know a lot more in a year.
aha, didnt barnett play basketball? maybe were thinking of the wrong sport and the entire 2011 recruiting class for UK is decomitting and coming to U of M
If Tom's tweeting about it, I doubt it's basketball-related.
