Golic Taking Jim Harbaugh Breakfast Challenge
Jay Harbaugh's story about his dad using Gatorade with breakfast cereal, presented with a lack of milk that day, led to the UM Alumni Association creating the Jim Harbaugh Breakfast Challenge -- getting students to video themselves doing the same thing.
It's now reached Mike and Mike. Greenie challenged Golic to do it, and of course when it comes to stupid food challenges, Golic is all over it.
He'll be eating Froot Loops with Blue gatorade this morning.
MOAR HARBAUGH'd.

in tying this to a cause? Think Ice bucket challenge but our cause is Mott Children's hospital.
January 28th, 2015 at 8:29 AM ^
Now we have to dump it on our heads? This is getting worse every day.
January 28th, 2015 at 8:55 AM ^
So, with the Ice Bucket Challenge, the ice cold water being dumped on you was supposed to lock you up and in a sense, momentarily make you feel what it feels like to have ALS.
What's eating cereal with gatorade supposed to repersent? Ageusia?
January 28th, 2015 at 9:10 AM ^
You taught me a new word today. Thank you!
January 28th, 2015 at 9:10 AM ^
If it's blue Gatorade? Cyanophobia.
January 28th, 2015 at 10:31 AM ^
Type 2 Diabetes

create the challenge, start it here on mgoblog.
that would be awesome.
if you set it up I will participate.

I think if you refuse you have to donate to Mott's.
If you're a 5-star recruit you get to commit to UM.

I'm so glad I don't get ESPN anymore.
January 28th, 2015 at 8:28 AM ^
How did you manage that?
January 28th, 2015 at 8:53 AM ^
Cutting the cord with cable, mate.
January 28th, 2015 at 12:38 PM ^
Cut the cord man... I ditched everything except for cell phone and internet. I get any sports I want from online.
January 28th, 2015 at 7:53 AM ^
"I thought it would be worse, this ain't bad."
He's chowing down, ate the whole bowl.
January 28th, 2015 at 7:55 AM ^
After his first taste Golic went back for more and ate the whole thing, even drinking the Gatorade out of it and grossing out Greeny. "It's not bad!"
If this wasn't tied to Harbaugh I fear I would have lost a couple IQ points for that.
January 28th, 2015 at 7:59 AM ^
"Greenie." ugh.

Yup. I cringe every time, too. I absolutely hate Mike and Mike and the fact that they call him Greeny or Greenie or Greeney - however it is spelled - just really annoys me. That is one of the worst radio shows in the world. Maybe if they talked about something other than the overrated NFL, I might listen to them, but because 80%+ of their show is NFL, I just can't take it.
January 28th, 2015 at 8:01 AM ^
Thanks ESPN for contributing to our decline as a nation.
January 28th, 2015 at 8:14 AM ^
I instantly think less of a person when they reveal "Mike and Mike" as a show they watch regularly. Is Squawk Box too far over your head?!?
January 28th, 2015 at 8:20 AM ^
Wow. I feel soooooooo ashamed now. Whats your recommendation, Mr Superior, should I just shoot myself this morning and save mankind from having to accept me for my massive number of flaws -- although I am certain you have no idea what that feels like -- or should I first solve world hunger to at least have made some kind of contribution to make up for my post, and then off myself?

My recommendation was Squawk Box. It doesn't require a Wharton MBA to follow.
The target audience for Mike and Mike is an average 6th grader and his working class father. This board is better than that.
January 28th, 2015 at 8:48 AM ^
"Working class father"... I didn't know I should be so superior to someone that goes to work everyday to support his family.
January 28th, 2015 at 8:58 AM ^
There's absolutely nothing wrong with being a member of the working class. But this is a board intended for graduates of one of the Top 25 universities in the world. Frankly, in no way should the demographics of this board and Mike and Mike overlap.
January 28th, 2015 at 9:08 AM ^
So you're telling me since I'm a "working class father" of a sixth grader that didn't graduate from one of the Top 25 universities in the World that this board wasn't intended for me. My mistake. I'll delete the app and never get on here again. Sorry for the inconvenience.
January 28th, 2015 at 9:09 AM ^
Didn't realize you needed a degree from Michigan to be on this board or a fan of the sports teams discussed here.
Personally I would rather see more of the inclusive attitude I learned during my time at Michigan and much less of your condescending arrogance.

Sometimes this board is a bit too inclusive though. Even if a person here didn't graduate from UM, they should still be intelligent enough to not watch Mike and Mike.
January 28th, 2015 at 9:22 AM ^
So you don't necessarily need a degree from UM (though it's preferred) but you're also not allowed to watch Mike and Mike. Got it. Can you please outline all other required credentials for posting?
January 28th, 2015 at 9:13 AM ^
You're only allowed to read this blog if you graduated from Michigan? I suspect Brian would prefer that not be the case.
January 28th, 2015 at 9:24 AM ^
Looks like we got a pretty quick answer to that. Thanks mods
January 28th, 2015 at 9:26 AM ^
Double post :-(
January 28th, 2015 at 9:14 AM ^
I didn't graduate from Michigan; mods how do I delete my account? I shouldn't be on here.
January 28th, 2015 at 6:11 PM ^
Go away. Seriously I would applaud if Brandon told you to find another team.
January 28th, 2015 at 8:42 AM ^
This is wrong on so many levels.

I'm with you... WTF happened here?
January 28th, 2015 at 12:41 PM ^
Mods deleted a bunch of posts by someone spewing negativity. It not only removed the posts but reordered the heirarchy of the remaining posts, so you cant tell something is missing.

Ha like Squawk Box is any better. A bunch of talking heads parroting lines.
January 28th, 2015 at 8:50 AM ^
Oh trust me, I'm not saying Sauawk is some brilliant show. But compared to Mike and Mike, it may actually teach viewers something of benefit.

That joe kernen though.... I cannot stand that guy.

Blue Gatorade and Fruit Loops sounds like a good combination. Especially if you're a sugar nut and can handle all the sweet. A bad combination would be like orange Gatorade and Cinnamon Toast Crunch... after brushing your teeth.
January 28th, 2015 at 9:01 AM ^
maybe if you are buddy the elf.
January 28th, 2015 at 12:27 PM ^
One of the student challengees said "It's actually hard to make Cinnamon Toast Crunch taste bad" so, you know, who knows. I think CoCo Pebbles induced some gagging when mixed with grape
January 28th, 2015 at 8:28 AM ^
I can't imagine fruit loops and Gatorade being all that bad, if you like each of them to begin with. He should've tried mixing dry Kashi Go Lean cereal with that Gatorade.
January 28th, 2015 at 8:33 AM ^
This has to b a joke. Lol
January 28th, 2015 at 8:44 AM ^
The Alumni Association included a video of students taking the challenge.
January 28th, 2015 at 8:51 AM ^
Someone should start the mike golic challenge. Being an idiot everyday in front on a national audience. BOOM ROASTED.
January 28th, 2015 at 9:01 AM ^
Golic is the man.
January 28th, 2015 at 9:11 AM ^
No. He's not.
January 28th, 2015 at 9:32 AM ^
Mike and mike isn't great, but boomer and carton is worse IMO. Esp that carton dude, just a creep.
