Go USA BEAT CANADA Pt. 2 Hockey Open Game Thread

Submitted by M-Wolverine on

Didn't really want it to come down to this, and as I said before, I'd have given up a win last Sunday for one this Sunday, but since we have to play them twice, might as well win it!

"Well, it was at least a great game...it's too bad we couldn't seal the deal in overtime. But they at least didn't get embarrassed, and had Canada worried for awhile there. Silver isn't so bad."

Think that'll work?

Neg if USA wins...I'll sacrifice the points for Gold...

man, the studio coverage with mike milbury and JR has just been awful all tournament long. milbury is an idiot who fucked the islanders as GM and is basically a crappy, non-entertaining version of don cherry (w/o the suits). JR can barely go one sentence without misspeaking, and doesnt know what he's talking about half the time.

why can't they get some decent commentators in the studio? bring in mickey redmond, maybe brett hull.

Clarkie from Canada comes back on MGoBlog AFTER Canada wins something, per usual.

Why did it have to be Crosby?

I wanted a shoot-out...

Never trust a Sparty.

Had a lot of people over for that one so sorry I didn't get to enjoy the coverage on here (which would be way better than the NBC feed you all must have to watch). Anyway, it was a good game and Miller almost pulled it off for them. A lucky bounce on the end and nice finish in the 6 on 5. In the overtime it looked like Canada had most of the play and this surprised me a bit.

As an aside, I've been around the whole time. Some might find all the fuck Canada and fuck Crosby analysis offensive. I'll admit it does get old. Stay classy though.

Well, what a game. I know it's four years away, but after that game, how can the NHL not let it's players go to Russia. Watching games on tape delay or on-line will still be worth it to see games like this.

Plus, even though Olympic hockey isn't like NHL hockey, there wasn't a better advertisement for hockey as a sport than this game today.
