Go Blue!

Tough loss boys. Looks like we found a QB and tailback. Correct some mistakes and they'll be ok. Shake it off and ask who's next.

Now I know how Nebraska fans felt when they switched systems and brought in an outsider to take over their program! I think that we will probably win 4, as Wisconsin, Illinois, PSU, OSU, MSU and Purdue are all superior right now. In fact, I think that Northwestern might even beat us. Welcome to the jungle, Rich Rod.

The game was decided by turnovers (duh).  Michigan had them, ND didn't.  First road game with a bunch of true freshmen and sophmores - it was going to be a tough game.

But the offense, with Threet at QB, looked pretty damn good considering all of the problems with inexperience, depth, and new system.  I thought the improvement on offense was dramatic.  Since the fumbles were caused somewhat by the weather conditions, and the INTs by Sheridan, I think this team can actually score some points now.  I am surprisingly encouraged.

I said it many times, the game against ND concerned me more than Utah.  Michigan had a slight chance at the end against Utah; the game against ND was over after the fumble recovery/touchdown.

The defense was somewhat disappointing, but I think that was because the defensive line could not get good footing (and of course all of the turnovers).  I think this performance by the defense is an aberation.

Michigan State and Illinois looked far from, let's call it 'Good' today.

Hoyer is exactly as predicted: Terrible. MSU's loss to Cal, once lawded as 'a well fought game agains a good team' now appears to be 'a well fought game to a mediocre team that should have lost by much more to the Terps'.

I didn't get to see the Purdue game, nor did I see the Illinois game, but the Illini almost getting dropped by the Ragin' Cajins... well, yeah. If we can pull it out against Purdue... MOTOR CITY BABY!

jug -- what you fail to realize is what killed Nebraska is a complete loss of its defense.  They were no longer able to stop anyone.  They scored points under callahan, that wasn't the problem.  He just couldn't figure out how to develop his D and it cost him his position.

Was our D great today.  No, but they were good enough to win if we didn't have 6 TOs.
