GLI Question

Submitted by VCavman24 on
I am going to the GLI tomorrow and would like to see both games but also catch the end of the Lions game. Will I be able to leave the Joe to go to a restaraunt after the Michigan game and come back for the MSU-Ferris game? My ticket is for both games. Last year I was able to to leave Comerica and come back but I have no idea if I will be able to at the Joe. Go Blue!

No, because the JLA scanners only let your ticket in once.

The Olympia is open to the public. I'm sure they'll have the Lions game on there.

*sigh*. I think the Lions have a better chance of winning tomorrow. Michigan is without Compher, Motte, Werenski and Larkin who are all at the WJCs.

Hope I'm wrong and they can win. I'll be there. Unfortunately, the new arena isn't ready yet so it's at the Joe Louis.

It's a fancy-pants restaurant/bar that is reserved for season ticket holders (IIRC) and requires you to be dressed up to go to.

Except when there's a college hockey tournament going on. It's open for the GLI, the old CCHA Playoff and the B1G Tournament in March.

It is a restaurant / bar place in the JLA but I believe it is open only to season ticket holders normally, although they might have it open generally for the GLI. Having done the one at Comerica admittedly, I am not certain on that (although I have been here for work events, so they do make exceptions for special events). If it is open, you'll surely be able to find a screen there with the Lions game going.

It is actually open to anyone, season ticket holder or not, but you typically have to purchase an Olympia Room pass for the low low price of 40.00 per group.  I have season tickets and you would have to purchase them in addition to the cost of the season tickets.  I actually had a friend call the box office and purchase a pass for a game last month.

However in terms of the GLI, it may be open to everyone without needing a pass.  I have no idea on that front.

True here in NYC at Madison Square Garden for the NIT and the recent games at Barclays.  Otherwise fans of one team can sell their tix after their game to fans of the second game's teams.

As it is, scammers pick up the tix of the departing fans (whether by buying them or by picking them up from the ground) and sell them to incoming fans looking for last-minute tix.  The victims can't get in because the tix have already been scammed.  (I mean, scanned.)

The GLI is one of the things I miss since moving away from Detroit. I was at a game at the Joe when it was just about finished being built. Our suite had unpainted drywall!
