I've been a grad student here at MSU for two years now, and when I read those comments for the first time (I read a similar article on a different site awhile back; unfortunately, it had similar comments too), it was the most (and probably the only) time I've been embarrassed to be associated with this school. I'm in disbelief people think like that. I will say for the most part the people I'm around here are pretty class, but I'm sure I'm distanced from most of the "bra's". But yes, disgusted by the fans.

Ouch that sounds awful, I dont think anyone deserves that so I dont know about this being karma. I have to say though, part of me is glad he won't see the field anymore this season--he should have never been on it in the first place. It's just a shame that it had to be due to an injury instead of MD making the right call and keeping winston off the team.

Glenn Winston is a popular figure for derision in the online Michigan community because of his well-documented incident with the law and a fellow MSU athlete. However, Winston's season-ending injury is not going to un-assault AJ Sturges. Taking any cathartic pleasure from this situation will be empty and fruitless for you. If you feel the need to keep Glenn Winston in your thoughts, pray for his rehabilitation--in every sense of the word.

...try and rise above gleeful celebration of injuries to our rivals, regardless of the circumstances. Calling it karma is another way of saying Winston's injury was justified or deserved... Which is another way of calling ourselves vindictive assholes. Would this thread keep popping up had WE beaten THEM for a second consecutive year?

Karma for Winston would be Winston attending a hockey game and having a puck slam into his temple putting him into a coma. I see this as Karma coming back on Dantonio for Dantonio's decision to fully reinstate him this year.

If his unpleasant wounding has in some way enlightened Dantonio as to the grim finish beneath the glossy veneer of criminal life and inspired him to change his ways, then Winston's injuries carry with it an inherent nobility, and a supreme glory.

(Many) MSU fans cheered when McGuffie got hurt. (Many) MSU fans cheered when Forcier got hurt and will continue to root for him to be hurt. I will choose to not stoop down to their level by taking pleasure in the season ending injury of one of theirs.

stoop to their level. It's cathartic. Now, on to working up a good hate for the Delaware State Hornets. Not much to work with in that regard, however. What are their colors? Can anyone name one player or coach? Where is Delaware? Miscellaneous Delaware trash talk: the other team in the state is the Delaware Blue Hens. What kind of name is that? What is a Blue Hen? Visual image is a old hen with its grey feathers dyed blue. Why did they rip off the winged helmut?

to win the starting job by the end of this month anyway. Karma would be Winston being drafted in the NFL and getting his ass kicked by the local NHL team's prized high draft pick at some nightclub.........who then spends 6 months in jail, and is welcomed back to the team with open arms on the first day of training camp. ..a knee injury is just a tough break. Guess I can look forward to all the "what a great stories" about how Dantonio stuck with Glenn Winston through the tough times. Maybe Glenn will name his fist son Mark.
