“I can't start a new thread, but I figured the board would appreciate this.  Last night the was the Indiana All-Stars vs. the Junior All-Star game.  Glenn Robinson III and Zak Irvin were the stars of their respective teams.  Robinson led the senior All-Stars with 21 points and Irvin led the juniors with 20 points.  Needless the say, the future for UM basketball is at an all time high.

From what I've seen of Irvin, I don't think he'll ever be "The Man" in college. But he will should develop into a very good secondary or tertiary scoring option on a high major team by the time he's an upperclassman. As an underclassman, he will provide depth and top notch defense due to his length and basketball IQ. This is just my ameteur two cents. Now, he could totally prove me wrong and end up being the best player on the team throughout most of his career. But what's great is that with JB's recruiting, is that he won't have to be.

Not sure right now is the zenith of the program.  In 1984-92, we won the B1G twice, were a #1 seed in the tournament twice, had the team with Tarpley and The Judge and The General etc., then Glen Rice, and we won the National Championship, and had the Fab Five (greatest college recruiting class ever, any sport) (other than Hoke's 2013 class, of course).

And I wasn't paying attention mid-1970s with Russell, Rudy T, etc.  Those teams apparently were ballers.  The 1976 team just ran into a historically unbelievable IU team; that UM team undoubtedly would have won the national championship but for the greatness of the Hoosiers that year.

So while the future is looking up, it's merely to put on on level with Indiana and MSU.  And let's not count our chickens before they hatch.

Article about game, big on GRIII (though pic is of DePaul-bound DeJuan Marrero)

Some context is important here:  Robinson was who people were talking about in a game that featured SIX other B1G recruits, including MSU's top recruit (Gary Harris) and 3 from IU, who are a BIG part of why people are talking up IU for #1 next year (hint:  it's not because of Christian Watford).

I hope Mcgary is better than what people have been saying for the last few months.  The #2 player in the country should be better than "Morgan w/a decent jumpshot". Either way, I'm excited about next year.
