Last week, my hair was on fire. I was pig bitin' mad and in danger of slipping into a deep depression. But this week, I'm calm, reflective even. And I'm seeing that we have to hit rock bottom before we can come back strong. We have to experience pain before we can experience pleasure again. We, as a fan base, have to change along with our team.
When we brought in RR, we knew it was going to mean change. But did we really know what that meant? If there was a football program in this country that was more deeply embedded in the past, in tradition, in doing things the way we've always done them, I can't think of it. Michigan has always been deeply committed to its Michigan-ness.
So, now that we bought into change, we must go through the change. A lot of us want to go back to the safe place that is 8 - 4, instead of risking a bigger prize (or a steeper downfall).
I, for one, am in. I'm not a true believer. I don't know what the next few years with RR will bring. But I'm willing to stop making a judgment after every game about whether he's the right guy or not. I'm willing to take a risk.
