please stop losing Red Wings. Kthxbai
I suppose I haven't paid enough attention to hockey this season, but the Red Wings are in no danger of not making the playoffs, correct? Why does losing in the regular season matter, other than maybe pride?
where we won twenty some in a row
Your copying my pic dude. Got seniority here.
...this is awkward.
They're going to make the playoffs, that's for certain. However, its the difference between home ice (which they could have had if they held onto the central division lead they had for a good chunk of the year) or playing Nashville (tough team with good goaltending) or playing out west to start the playoffs (traditionally this has been a struggle for the wings).
What matters is where they're seeded. They really don't want to end up in the 6 seed because they're either going to play San Jose or LA (probably) and if you've watched any of the last three years playoff runs you know that San Jose gives the Wings fits.
Is the time to get hot with the playoffs only a week away. We need to stay healthy now that our injuries at starting to clear up but having Helm out still is not helping. Looks like its going to be a Preds vs Wings matchup for the first round but they aren't in 4th place which would give us home ice. Need this win tonight.
It's very important because the playoff standings are so tight. A win could make the Wings 4th but a loss could drop them to 6th.
I'll be all over the place tonight. I know there are plenty of NBA haters but I'll definitely be watching Thunder-Heat.
Acceptable, as long as you're rooting against the Heat. Note the phrasing, you don't have to root for the Thunder, just against the Heat.
I root hard for the Thunder and against the Heat so my choice is easy tonight.
A sentiment after my own heart. I will readily admit I am a playoff NBA fan only as I am a fan of effort night in and night out and they just don't bring it during the regular season, but I make an exception for very good teams that seem to also try harder than the rest. So this season I will watch the Bulls (my normal team), and the Thunder whenever I happen to catch them on. The rest just aren't worth the time investment.
huge NBA night
I might watch baseball tonight, so that I don't miss this:
That's like a hallucination you'd have during a really high fever. That's even worse than the NY Mets cheesy Homerun Apple....
I hate myself for even watching that clip.
...FreakBass-"We are ND"-video-bad. Almost.
P.S. - This was not intended as an invitation for someone to embed it; only an opinion.
My wife is having a few of her friends from college over for wine and cheese or whatever tonight (all OSU alumna)...I'll have to make sure every tv is set to BTN
You have my sympathies.
Thanks but I still have both of those games on my DVR.
Already on the DVR and I've watched them enough to have satisfaction that we won both games. Its baseball and hockey playoff season.
For me, this game is about a lot more than home-ice advantage in the playoffs. I think the Red Wings effort in the game against the Blues will be a good predictor of what they're playoff fate will be. If it's another lackluster road effort in a critical game against a top-tier opponent, I'm fully preparing myself for that first round exit.
I'm watching both for sure.
I don't see anything in the record books that shows OSU winning in 2010.
It's on @ 6 and yes technically it ended in 2010 lol
Living in akron ohio i root for any team that plays the heat, plus KD is just a freak.
I would imagine most true fans already have these two games recorded from the live telecast.
This. The 2 things that will be deleted when the dvr or myself die. Lol
Watching Michigan #beatohio and then I read on ESPN that Sullinger is going pro! Hopefully that doesn't influence Burke to enter the draft too.
I'm sitting here watching the Michigan Notre Dame game from last year and I can't help thinking to myself wow the good guys played horrible. I guess I let the excitement of the game over time blind me from the reality of how the game really went. I remember sitting there feeling like shit during the mass majority of the game, but I remember the universe coming to order at the end. Now looking back their running backs just ripped through the middle of the field and Floyd just caught everything on the outside. Michigan's offense in no way in any way was consistent during the game, they survived completely off of big plays. I really believe metaphorically Reese handed the gamer over. Yet, it's still amazing how everything just came together at the end. It was just the beginning of the legacy of the 132.
