Gentlemen Clubs in AA?

Submitted by ndhillon on
My man and I are coming up from VA for the PSU game. I saw a bunch of threads that recommend good bars in AA but none for strip clubs. A google search shows that the nearest one is in Detroit??? I know that has got to be wrong. Any suggestions on were to go?

I grew up near there and know the manager. It's a decent place, but not the place you want to drive from Ann Arbor to go. If you're going to make the drive, visit the following in this order: (1) Flight Club - approx 25 min from AA (2) Penthouse Club (on 8 mile) approx 20 min from Flight Club If you're still not satisfied, continue down 8 mile to either Trump's or Colliseum. However, talent-wise, the Flight Club is top-notch. It is a bit pricey, but you'll enjoy it. Penthouse is not too far behind, and a little bit cheaper. Subi's is good for it's area, but again, not worth the drive from AA. Another route is Michigan Ave from the Flight Club. When you head East, there are the following places in Dearborn (all about 10 min from the Flight Club): Silver Cricket, BT's and Pantheon Club. All are decent, a step down from Flight Club / Penthouse. Keep going East and you'll get into Detroit and some more clubs down Michigan Ave. These are another step-down, and I would not reccomend them. The above places should keep you more than occupied! Enjoy!

Listen to Raback, he about nails it down...Everything he says is accurate. Flight Club has some incredible talent, but you are going to pay for it. And for those who keep mentioning Canada, all I can say is that yes you do get booze and full nude across the border, but the rules seem a lot more tightly followed by our neighbors to the north. Things seems to get a lot crazier a lot quicker in Detroit. At least that is my experience... Aug

I can confirm the Vu high school girl thing. I used to work at a retail local music store frequented by a girl that was in her high school jazz band. Went to the Vu one day (on a date with another girl, no less), and she was working there. That was incredibly awkward.

Subis on Fort st and Northline in Southgate is worth it. Nice price point (no cover before 10p I think). Nice enough girls. the only downfall is if you're from downriver you probably sat next to most of these girls in HS.

because you cant have both full nudity and drink ... i suggest saving your time by not going to detriot and just getting really hammered and then going to the vu in ypsi ... then you get the best of both worlds

I've heard a couple remarks about how expensive a strip club is... The only places I've ever been are in Vegas so maybe my perception of what expensive means is skewed (had a buddy spend 7k in a night before). What does "expensive" mean?

My definition: You have to go to the VIP and spend $400 to get any real "action". The VIP price differs by city though ($200 in Vegas for 30 mins, but $400 in Chicago, go figure). The best clubs are the ones that offer 3 dances for less than $75 bucks. I think 3 dances for $100 is pretty standard (can still be viewed as expensive though), and anything over that (like in Chicago) is definitely expensive. For all of the Chicago guys out there, Pink Monkey isn't bad (BYOB, nice girls), but The Industrial Strip in Hammond, IN is where you need to go. Waterbed is all I gotta say.

Here's the connection with UM football: prior to the 9/11 over-stadium flying ban, a large number of the banners towed by planes over the stadium were for strip clubs. Deja Vu in Ypsi would waive cover with ticket stubs, and the much-missed free football guides given away near the stadium were packed with ads from Deja Vu, The Landing Strip, Flight Club, etc.

If you're flying in, I think there is a Landing Strip in Romulus, right by the airport in addition to the one in Livonia, I know there used to be one there. As far as the Vu, I went to one in Lansing, and the lack of alcohol made it less than a good experience, because I couldn't even drink the girls pretty. Maybe they look better in Ypsi, and it's always nice to help a girl make her way through college.

There are no strip clubs in Livonia. The residents would go nuts. Trust me on this one. Hell, there was public outcry when they tried to put a Hooters in, with people in the local paper declaring "This is Livonia, DAMN IT, and we have a reputation to uphold" -- ironic since the location in which they were trying to put a Hooters was less than a block from the Lakepointe Yacht Club, which is considerably more sleazy than Hooters. But it's not a strip club.

If you are looking for more than a lap dance, may I suggest B.T.'s in Dearborn. Never been there personally, but friends have told me they left satisfied ;)

Not only are you coming all the way way from VA to attend a Michigan football game, you're also taking him to the strip club? You sound like the woman of every man's dreams.

Do the scuz tour. Hit up Legs in Ypsi, Bogart's in Inkster, Atlantis Lounge in Allen Park, and Henry VII in Inkster. You'll wish you didn't know the definition of the phrase "strip club."

Check out the reviews.I guess you can change the name, not the experience. http://detroit.citysearch.com/profile/5175802/belleville_mi/john_s_hot_… Highlight: No matter how low your expectations are for a strip club, Leggs is sure to go below. Perhaps the stretch marked, overweight, large gut type of lady is what you are into? If so, Leggs is just the place for you. Otherwise, you had better steer clear. You can find much better looking girls pretty much anywhere, and don't have to pay for them. Frankly, I would have preferred to pay the dancers to put their clothes on so I could eat a hot dog from their gourmet buffet than lose my lunch looking at them. Pros: Exits clearly marked. Cons: The girls take their clothes off.

I had a friend who used to dance at both. Ypsi Deja Vu isn't very nice at all. Leggs is worse. Flight Club is okay, but be very careful which way you drive to and from it. The area east of the Airport is dicey. The best way in and out for a non-local resident is to come over from the airport skirting the north or south boundry, and go back the same way. (I am not talking City of Detroit Cass bad, but bad enough to need caution as an out of town visitor) Under no circumstances should you attempt to visit Detroit clubs at night without a trusted native guide. Detroit itself can go from nice to third world in two blocks. As for the advice about Ricks and Scorekeepers, I second. Go in there with the same money you were going to spend on strippers and use it to buy undergrad women drinks. 75% chance of scoring, and if you tell them the whole story of why you are there 90% chance of seeing tits.
