Gator Bowl Open Thread

Submitted by M-Wolverine on

I'm not seeing a Liveblog planned....yet...so if it occurs, this can go unused.  But the Liveblog chatter usually starts an hour, hour and a half before kickoff.  And rather than 100 different posts on every thought about the game, and surfing through them all, I'll attempt at least one central point for it.

I figure everyone will be watching the Gator Bowl primarily, and just flipping to the other games in the first part, so updates here will be appreciated.

But enough pregame, lets get to the REAL game, and let's GO BLUE!

Edited to FA's specs below (you didn't miss anything).

ARGH I am not sure what this defensive scheme is built to do.  The 3rd and 11 throw had the receiver 1 on 1 and the corner providing a 10 yard cushion.  Then again I have never played organized football.

I saw that matcup and before the snap I thought.  Ok yup.  However our boys came to play.

Another note, they are HELPING us by giving us touchbacks.  Heh.

Is this three year nightmare over yet?

But we'll score alot of points.

The thing that sucks is MSU gets the ball the second half, so lets say they score....ok they will score. So now MSU is up by 3 scores on Michigan and will take their foot off the gas on both sides and this is when Michigan shines. This is where the deception comes into play and when Michigan gets all its yards in "junk time". This team isn't good on either side of the ball. They where never good. They are just deceptive because of the stats. Look at WHEN the stats come though.

I hope we can come back but with this defense it will never happen. These are MAC talent kids. They aren't going to get any better wether you give them one month or one year to get better. They just aren't big enough, fast enough, or talented enough.

Halftime post. My wife is even shocked by how poorly Michigan is doing.

She has concluded the RichRod is out.

Herbie on the ESPN show just said it was time for RR to go and she said "Yes". An Ashleys, ABC, and main street dinner A2 alum with mninimal interest in the games other than the tailgating and show and band is done with him.

As poorly as the tackling and coverage have been, I think the 10 man defense TD is really a direct management failure, as is not manging the Tate class issues.  It isn't a difference of style, or a new scheme, or a transition. Those are direct failures of leadership and management.

What a silly little team. Well now we know what happens when you take a big east team and put them in the B10 and then have them play an SEC team in a bowl game.

Thanks Martin for blowing up and destroying one of the greatest football programs of all time.
