It seems like there is enough discussion going now that the combined thread will soon be unwieldly, so here were go:

Gator Bowl Open Thread

The 1st quarter just ended with a quick exchange of fumbles. 7-0 Florida.

Can't bring myself to root for Ohio. Karma's a bitch and I hope it bites them since the NCAA chickened out on their punishment. No team should get away with a light punishment AND get a great coach out of it...

Why does Ohio State not pass at all (until finally scoring on this drive)? Was there some unmitigated disaster earlier in the season with Miller after the Miami game? I get that he sucks as a thrower, but he can atleast do that.

why they bottled up Miller again. After the Michigan game, why not let him loose? I think it's because Florida's offense sucks, and they knew they'd have to score against Michigan, but why not build on the success in a meaningless bowl game

In this 3 pack of games vs the SEC if all 3 teams are winning the crowd should do a B.I.G. chant near the end of the fourth quarter.  Someone quick "twitternate" that.

Sorry to hijack but I am in serious danger of missing the bowl game.  Long story short, the game will end around 7am local time and watching live is out of the question.

They don't have DVRs over here (can't get espn3 either), and I doubt I can stay in the dark on the score long enough to wait for the torrent, which usually pops up several days after the fact.  Is there any way to find a delayed stream or super-prompt torrent?

Florida's secondary doing all the work on rushes.

Was Ohio's game plan to not use Miller? Florida is almost daring him to run on some of these plays and he won't bite.

Ramzy Nasrallah tweeted:

He's a Shugarts of consistency. RT RT Posey with a touchdown in three straight bowls - Rose, Sugar and Gator.

Sorry, but point 5 in the ruling:

Pursuant to NCAA Bylaw 19.5.2.2-(h), the institution vacated all wins for the
2010 football regular season, including the institution's 2010 Big Ten Conference
football co-championship and participation in the 2011 Sugar Bowl. (Institution
imposed). Further, any trophies awarded during this period of competition shall
be sent to the NCAA. The individual records of the involved student-athletes
shall be vacated as well.

(emphasis mine)

Ring around the Posey, y'all fell down...and osu punts... (Gotta take some pleasure in it as they're showing how small a penalty osu got on screen now)

I like that they'll let you basically run  the whole play  before they notice that someone called timeout. It makes for a faster game, right?

EDIT: Miller gets sacked for a generous loss to make 4th and 17. Drew Basil makes a 47-yarder to make it 14-10 Florida.

DOUBLE EDIT: This is a truly depressing stat for the B1G - a Florida team that ran FIVE plays in the 1st quarter is winning right now. Jim Bollman's offensive genius really comes through here.

Anyone else hear Mike Patrick's declaration that Posey was "out most of the year with an injury?" Has he been in like some kind of media depravation or something?
