I thought it would help to have this all on one thread so we will know which game to watch since three B1G schools are on at the same time as the Winter Classic.
Gator Bowl, Heart of Dallas Bowl, Hall of Fame Bowl and Tangerine Bowl Open Thread
Today is the day the B1G repairs its reputation! Or... confirms the decline of the B1G is still in progress...
I doubt the Big Ten wins a game the entire day.
I would not be shocked if the Big Ten gets shut out yet again today. I'm feeling there will be an epic SPARTY NO moment before today is all said and done with.
Bullough was basically the captain of that defense, no? I think MSU will miss him for more than just his MLB skills. I'm guessing their defense looks confused / flustered a few times today where they normally wouldn't have
Bad weather and bad field conditions look like thay may have an impact on the Gator Bowl. Cornhusker punter just kicked one 17 yards.
Burn B1G. Burn. If I'm not happy, then no one gets to be happy.
A nice, long band of rain across northern Florida will make this an interesting game perhaps.
Georgia is doing everything possible to help Nebraska make a good drive of this. You would hope that, if the Huskers should score, they would thank the Bulldogs for the PI and unecessary roughness calls.
Ahh New Year's Day. Rooting for the B1G not to go 0-9.
Serious question: is anyone/who is held accountable if this happens? Obviously it's 95% the result of the teams and coaches performance, but does Jim Delaney or any other higher-ups have any responsibility to work towards putting a good product on the field? The Big Ten, if it performs as poorly as most expect it to, will certainly be seen as the weakest of the power conferences and is adding two more doormats next year. Does Jim Delaney just get to point to the supposed "new" TV revenue and tell us to be happy with bloated AD budgets and shit football or can he be canned for this crappy product?
Just to clarify.

Nebraska 7, Georgia 3. Georgia muffed a punt in the red zone allowing Nebraska to score on a brief drive.
North Texas and UNLV are tied at 7
Is that on The Ocho?
Would really love it if the Nebraska score holds up. A shitty Neb team beating one of the gems of the SEC would be great for the conference reputation.
Georgia is not that good this year. Yeah it's still the SEC, but even if Nebraska wins, all the likes of ESPN will talk about is that they beat a team plagued with injuries. And of course, if Georgia wins, it'll be because of that SEC speed, Georgia's grit and determination to not be denied, and that the Big Ten just can't compete.
Nebraska 10-9 at the half
It still feels wrong watching Iowa, Neb, and MSU instead of Michigan on New Years day.
Tangerine Bowl scoreless in the first
Clowney seems to be one of the more overrated "can't-miss" prospects I've seen in some time. He will probably do well in the NFL as a situational pass rusher, but he doesn't seem nearly as disruptive as guys like Suh, Watts, etc. were in college.
Wisconsin had two 1,000 yard rushers this year. We couldn't get one to get 500...
2010: 5.58 yards/attempt
2011: 5.15 yards/attempt
2012: 4.76 yards/attempt
2013: 3.28 yards/attempt
Way too depressing.
Nonetheless --- Go Blue!
South Carolina and Cheeseheads tied at 7 in the 2nd
Iowa is hanging with LSU for now
Rooting for Nebraska, Iowa, and Wisconsin. I don't think I have it in me to pull for Sparty.
At one point in time, that was just a great hit and not ''targeting''.
They didn't call it targeting though. Just a personal foul call.
Nice protection by the Wisconsin O-line there. Sigh.
Nebraska with a 99 yard touchdown pass....holy shit.
That was some terrible D by Georgia, especially the tackle attempt by the safety. Good execution by Nebraska though.
I see they haven't got much better since the Auburn game.
99 yard TD pass for Nebraska
Holy hell that Nebraska touchdown. 99.5 yard TD pass.
Its slightly irritating to see the rest of the Big a Ten playing well against their competition, looking like they have great shots to take home a W, meanwhile we get embarrassed and out-classed by a 7-5 KSU team. Even Iowa is still holding tough against LSU.
I hate being the Debbie Downer, but what the hell is wrong with our team?
We got worse as the season wen, that's what's wrong. Developing players, that's what's wrong.
We had the seventh-best conference record of the seven bowl-eligible teams, but were moved up two slots because we're a good draw and travel well. By rights we should have been in the Texas Bowl.
Iowa has run 31 plays and managed 73 yards against the LSU defense. That's 2.35 yards per play on average. Yikes.
Also, did anyone else notice that LSU tried to Ferentz Ferentz by punting from the Iowa 32? Big Ten indeed.
I doubt we'd gain 30 yards on 30 plays against lsu's defense.
That Nebraska touchdown pass was sick. I would love to see the Big Ten take it to some of these SEC teams.
of Wisc running game and blocking, I really hope we get there soon, man ball works, it just needs good coaching, the jury is still out on our staff, IMHO.
Georgia is just a comedy of errors anymore. If Georgia wins this one Nebraska should feel bad about themselves.
Fire Ferentz! 0 points in the first half.
Georgia has shot itself in the foot a bunch of different times, and Nebraska is still barely hanging on to a lead.
That's how you hit if you're a CB. I don't remember seeing much of that this year by ours.
Nebraska is stupid if they go conservative here and give the ball right back
South Carolina takes the lead. Fuckin Sec.
Nebraska's just going to give it to them now.
That's why I don't understand going for it there. With two timeouts and over four minutes left I would have taken the field goal. You get a stop and then a field goal wins it. It's not like they have been stellar in the red zone today.
Nebraska is effing dumb
the Georgia receivers are choking like Linda Lovelace. Dropped balls all over and false starts.
The end of this game is just stupidity by both teams
has gotten three short spots in a row by the zebras. Yeah, fuck Nebraska.
Big tackle by Nebraska there. Might have saved the game.
Score one for the Big Ten!!!!!
B1G B1G B1G B1G B1G B1G
I hope they get stomped to shit.
Georgia receivers choking on their own balls. Pathetic.
Why throw there if you are Georgia? Sure he should have caught it, but Gurley is tearing them up right now and they blew it last time on almost literally the same pass. That's just dumb.
Great recruiter, AWFUL gameday coach.
Story line will be Georgia was beaten up and bad weather, still almost won game vs B1G. #espn'd
your team got lucky as fuck today.
are looking so much better then Michigan. Georgia was would have beaten us, even with all their injuries.
In other dumb coaching moves, Wisconsin passes up a tie game so they can run up the middle without blocking the DE. Turnover on downs.
Well their kicker had just missed a FG...
OK makes more sense now. I didn't catch that, my mistake.
Watching that stop on 4th down my mother exclaims "Where did they expect to go with a wall of people waiting to stop them?"
... my mother is now qualified to be Al Borges's replacement.
Wisconsin safety FAIL
That's probably it for Wisconsin...ugh
YES YES YES! Kickoff return touchdown!
Just got blasted by Wisconsin. Going to be a classic end to uSC and Carolina.
If only one Big Ten team won today I was hoping it would be Wisconsin. USC is not a top 10 team and I want them put in their place.
I love how Wisky, Iowa, & Nebraska are matching/exceeding that EESSEECC physicality today.
This SEC mythos needs to be put to bed. They have some good teams but does SC really look better than Wisconsin? The Badgers have been running almost at will today. Frankly, without some timely flags and bad calls / missed FGs by Wisconsin, and some amazing (dare I say lucky?) catches by SC receivers, this game could easily have Wisconsin up by 10.
In conclusion, I hate ESPN.
Wisconsin vs USC should've been the only close game by ESPN standard talking points. Hell, Nebraska already beat UGA and LSU is struggling with Iowa.
"some amazing (dare I say lucky?) catches by SC receivers"
To me, that's the reason SC looks as good if not better than Wisconsin. But if you ascribe their success to luck I can see why you don't think they're any good.
Now if Wisconsin could play any defense at all
Wisconsin and Iowa are both down their starting Qbs now
Can Wisconsin go a play without giving up 10+ yards?
fucking bullshit in the Outback Bowl
What the hell is this shit?
The officials have gone into full "Screw Iowa" mode in Tampa. Wow.
is between Oregon and S. Carolina, although admittedly I haven't seen them all. Who ya got?
The refs clearly have no idea what is going on in the Outback Bowl.
I...I... Just am not really sure.
PASS INTERFERENCE DAMMIT
Outback Bowl having some issues with (probably) P12 officials. #shocker
Holy hell. You're down 10 wisconsin. You don't have time to run the ball and huddle.
What is it with Wisconsin and clock management? Why would you throw on 3rd and 1?
Iowa driving here.
And LSU players conveniently "injured" to slow the drive. Both walked off. Bullshit SEC tactics needed to beat Iowa. Hope that LSU degree gets them far in life.
I don't know how you don't give the ball to Gordon or White on 3rd and 1. Also, I'm shocked that Connor Shaw is still able to walk. The dude runs tougher than a majority of running backs. Tough kid, played his ass of this year.
I seriously believe ESPN announcers are told to say bad things about the Big Ten
LSU is totally faking these "injuries". Football is becoming soccer in that the refs are allowing this bullshit to continue.
The "injury" 90 had the previous play apparently suddenly hit him walking back to the huddle about 20 seconds after the play was over.
WHAT ARE YOU DOING
So Iowa gets 2nd and short and runs three plays without giving Wiseman a shot. Wat. It's like they are trying to lose.
Iowa defense has given up on the offense.
Wisconsin isn't good at this coming from behind late thing.
Nice work Iowa
Well, folks, the Big Ten still sucks. Its depressing to have to think about the fact that the reputation of our conference is now in the hands of our two biggest rivals.
And I'll never bring myself to root for either of them.
The depressing part is it sucks and we suck more than the other sucky teams...
It points out just how dysfunctional and bad the UM FB program is right now. I can't see them playing at this level for years to come. Hope I'm wrong and things get turned around more quickly, but geez, they suck right now.
More Big Ten speed on the kickoff for Iowa....
Big play for Iowa. Still a long ways to go, though.
1-2 vs the SEC today with the two losses being decided late in the 4th is a pretty good showing by the B1G, but I'm sure SECPN will tell a different story...
Whew. #90 recovered from his near fatal shin injury to full strength one play later so he could fully execute his celebratory dance and jump up and down.
I was worried.
I don't know if that was an incomplete pass or not...but okay.
Alright, Iowa. Onside kick here needs to be a good one.
I'm still not rooting for MSU.
So far the Big Ten is 1-3 with Iowa likely about to lose. Even if MSU and OSU win, they'll be beating teams from the ACC and Pac-12. So the best the Big Ten can do is 3-4 and the media will say Nebraska beat an injured Georgia team. Not a very good bowl season for the Big Ten again. It could be very bad if MSU and OSU both lose.
Ack. So close!! USc and LSU benefitted from some extremely ill-timed turnover! If they had gone the other way, the big 10 would be 3-0 today
