But of all the comments I offered in that piece, the one that triggered the largest response from readers -- by far -- was my classification of Michigan (preseason No. 5) as overrated. Hardly a day goes by without at least one fan of the Maize and Blue asking me whether I "still" think the Wolverines are being over-hyped.This is not the first time an ESPN guy has written something like this. Our fanbase really holds these guys to the fire. I like it.

Except he voted M lowest among all of the ESPN voters in today's power rankings at 7. So, he does still think we are overrated at 5.

7 is still a high rating. It's fun and all, but these early season rankings are bunk. Let things sort themselves out during the course of the B10 season. I would much rather see us being rated just outside the top 10 and make a long tourney run than a top five rating and an early exit.
