Just give us a chance! I like it!

Wish he picked a different game...

I think this game could be quite exciting, especially for a recruit.

If those two are Banner and Garnett.

keep offering more 2012 linemen and oodles of 2013 linemen it seems like a safe bet they want MOAR!

You can never have enough lineman, both sides.
I'd love to add Garnett and Banner. At this point, there are certain players I'd have a hard time passing up, I don't care where they play, and these two are clearly near the top of that list. I'd love to add another DT and a couple of good WRs, but I'd much rather finish off the class with 5 top tier kids. I like and want both Darboh and Payton, but I'm not taking a WR for the sake of taking one. I hope all this works out and Payton goes blue, but we have five spots open... And I'd be shocked if we went into signing day with more than one spot open.
Getting Garnett on campus was very crucial.

I do. They struggled against Wyoming earlier in the year, and got PASTED by Wisconsin. They look a little better now, but I love our chances at home.

Per my post yesterday on another subject about my wife running into into Kenny Demens and Devin Gardner at the mall, one of them said to her: "We have OSU & Nebraska coming up and we feel pretty good about them." Case closed.

can't hate on a guy for picking stanford because education is important to him but man I would love to have this kid. Whats his major? I'm sure someone can pull up some obscure ranking where michigan is ranked higher than stanford in it or something.

Michigan ranks higher for its grad program perhaps. I think this is really the only hope since Michigan tends to be ranked higher for the marquee grad programs than it is for undergrad. I mean it's barely in the top 20 for undergrad but for grad it's got top 5-10 rankings in all the glamore programs.

Here is an update on former Michigan commit Demar Dorsey. (free Scout article) Apparently he is doing well, any chance Hoke would take him in this class? I know he is not huge on JUCO's.

Great to hear that he's doing well, but if I had to guess, I'd say he has little chance of reuniting with the Wolverines.

Along the same lines as Demar Dorsey, I was curious if Michigan might pursue a WR who wasn't academically eligible last year, Shawn Conway. I found an article on him, link below. He's playing for Butte College in California and seems likes he's doing pretty well.

Sam Webb highly doubts that Garnett leaves the West Coast. So I can definitely see Stanford or Washington for him.

Garnett is an excellent prospect. I am excited and hopeful to see him suit up in maize and blue! With a relatively thin OL next year (the year after, too), Garnett could come in and possibly contribute immediately. Recruits concerned with education seem to pan out. Someone fact check that? Haha

Not sure about Stanford's o-line situation but we'll obviously have lots of playing time available over the next few years. I'd be a bit leery about him coming here strictly because his dad is a fan. Hopefully he digs the Funk and if he decides to come here it will be solely due to what he feels is his own best interest.

Doesn't he realize that Stanford will go back to mediocrity once Luck leaves?

Speaking of recruiting is Jordan Payton still announcing his decision tomorrow?
October 24th, 2011 at 7:31 PM ^
I wish he would listen to his buddy Magnuson and just commit already. I love his size at the guard spot and he provides speed to pull and trap. If we can land him, Kyle Murphy, and/or Zach Banner. You're looking at the best offensive line to ever step on the campus of the University of Michigan. I firmly believe in that. Bars, Magnuson, Banner, Garnett, Kalis, all 4 and better stars. Then you got the possible emergence of Braden and Stacey. Its just scary good. All we need is Brionte Dunn to be settled in the backfield along with Fitz. Then throw in Shane Morris with Jordan Payton and possible Darboh or Powe. Sorry I'm getting a little excited.

There is an article on ESPN stating that Oklahoma was Banner's favorite visit and basically that that they lead. The article is behind paywall unfortunately, but for those of you with insider here is the article:

Even if Michigan isn't one of his leaders, it's still good that he's move his visit date up. Hopefully once he gets on campus he will realize that Michigan is the place for him. If not, at least we won't have to face him if he goes to a school out West.
