Gardner Media Day Article from 247
Quiet day on the board, so I thought I'd share this free 247 fluff piece. Some interesting tidbits include yet another vote of confidence for Joe Bolden this time from Devin Gardner. Will be interesting to see how he and Desmond Morgan end up splitting playing time. Gardner also says he and Amara Darboh have the chemistry back that they had prior to Darboh's injury. Hopefully they can mimic the telepathic communication shared by Gardner and Gallon last year. Anyways, give it a click.
Good read, thanks for sharing!
play with broken bones in his foot during the OSU game, he also had torn ligaments.
Generally what will happen when you have a severe ankle sprain is you tear apart your ligaments so violently that they rip pieces of your bones off. That's likely what happened.
greatest physical efforts I've ever seen from a Michigan player. That they couldn't make the last play still haunts.
but.......but......what I secretly don't want to admit is that the way the osu offense was moving at will definitely made the game still in play. I mean, a FG is all they needed. I have a hard time thinking that they couldn't have gotten into FG range at the least. Then again, the lead is the lead and anything can happen so of course I wanted it. I just think we assume the game is won if we get that conversion. Guy played like a champion, though!
Although they couldn't make the last play still hurts, but what if they made it.....Borges may be still on board....
Also on WTKA, Jake Ryan was talking up Joe Bolden (and maybe that was posted somewhere else, and why you refer to DG's being another vote of confidence). Mattison said Bolden had the best spring of any player. Ryan said he was helped by Bolden, looked to him for guidance when the coaches weren't right there. Said Bolden helped him, was very vocal in getting everyone lined up. It's been my opinion for a while that he starts.
I was actually referring to Bolden winning the Spring MVP, so add that to the pile of hype. I know Brian thinks Morgan will start again this year, but it appears as though it will be tough to keep Bolden off of the field.
That was a nice read, and especially encouraging regarding Darboh. Thanks for posting.
I've got a question, though. If you post a link to a fluff piece, does that make you a fluffer?

I hear there's decent money to be made in that line of work. NTTAWWT.
Really relieved to hear something about Darboh. It seemed like news of his recovery has been placed on strict radio silence. With the exception of a couple "he's fine" statements we really didn't hear much and when he didn't participate in the Spring (seemingly a long time for a foot injury), I was starting to fear the worst.
Also, I''m looking forward to seeing some folks eat lemons when Bolden gets the start.
It seemed like Darboh was getting tons of hype coming out of spring last year and even showed some flashes in the spring game. Really looking forward to his development, he could be really good.
Don't you think it's weird that noone ever mentions Bellomy? I've seen him in some of the Mgovideos and spring ball, but I don't think I've heard his name brought up once by the coaches or players since he got hurt. He was one of Borges's only recruits. Kinda feel bad for him, even if it's not at UM I'd like to see him get a chance to redeem himself and an opportunity to compete.
That's life in the D-1 football.
1995 starting QB for Michigan, injured, then upstaged by walk-on Brian Griese, never to be heard from again as he gave way to Tom Brady during his senior year.
Indeed, welcome to Div 1 football.
Orchestrate the comeback against Virginia that year? Or was that another time? That's sticking out as my only memory.
4th Q with three TD comeback, was the starter until injured in late September. He then started the entire '96 season, was hurt at OSU Greise finished and won that game and though he didn't know it at the time, that was the end of Dreisbach's collegiate career.
And he still played in the NFL. Had a long string of very good QBs.
When RR signed Morgan I didn't think much of it. A slow kid from the West side of the state that looked more like MAC material to me. Wow - was I wrong. The kid isn't flashy or sexy, but he's done a nice job for us. He is like the old Beetle that wasn't flashy, but it always started and got you to work in a snow storm. A tip of the hat to Morgan for being a fine Michigan man.
Bolden is big, flashy and looks like he could play on Sundays if he keeps getting better.
I hope they both get plenty of reps and we see a breakout year from Bolden. This D has potential to make us very happy this year.
I would really like to see Joe BIden split playing time with Desmond Morgan.
Joe Biden(the silver fox), Joe Bolden and Morgan it is.
With a little secret service help Old Joe could cover some ground.
