Gardner on 105.1 with Sparty Rico and fair weather wolverine Ryan.

Even he seems pumped about the defense. Questions about his receivers and backs was all predictable answers. "Everyone looks great and are working hard" When asked about the LB's he said "Man those guys are good" 18 more days!

Yeah guys I'm sorry, I turned it on in the middle. Rico was asking all the questions. But like I said, he was basically answering everything the right way but his tone when talking about the defense perked up.

I don't see any point in letting Devin interivew with that station.  It's a Sparty station and Rico is Valenti-light when it comes to obsession/hate of all things Michigan.  He reads right from the Sparty Orientation Handbook on Wolverine Meme's and Half-truths.

He reads right from the Sparty Orientation Handbook on Wolverine Meme's and Half-truths.
So by that I can infer that he downplays the importance of recruiting when Michigan flips the commitment on a kid like Drake Harris or Mike Weber, but when Malik McDowell chooses State, Dantonio is totally taking Michigan to the woodshed on the recruiting front. Am I close?

The chapter on recruiting is complex.  They like to tell everyone it's one of the last chapters in the handbook, but when Mork tells the media he has "brought in the top player in the state for the 3rd year in a row" it suddenly matters.  The handbook has two covers so they can reverse the order of importance when it suits their argument.

I think 105.1 is more the Michigan station and 97.1 is more pro-State (though maybe that's just because of Valenti...who I'm surprised has time to ever do his show, what with all the locked-in-the-basement-jerking-off-to-jim-rome-clips and whatnot).  I even like Rico.  I know he's a Sparty but he seems like a fun type, almost the anti-Valenti.

but last year during fall camp the defense was getting rave reviews.  We later came to find out it was because the offensive line was so inept.  I'm not necessarily saying that it's true for this year, but I'm not believing any hype until they play against another team.
