Friday? I'm not sure if sweet deals are worth a vacation day.
That was my thought as well, although there's a good chance that it will cut down on the number of people fighting with you for those good deals.
or *Cough* *Cough*.. ha JK.. or am I?
I wonder why they are doing the Garage Sale so soon, I remember last year they did these both on back to back days in August...maybe that's just too chaotic of a weekend for them
Notice it is titled YOUTH day to ward off the ebay whores.
Seriousy? Friday garage sale?
Still going because I need a matte helmet to finish my helmet timeline, but damnit that is stupid.
Started the "youth day" thing last year...sure didn't ward them off lol
I'd like to slap every one of them with a trout.
Not only are they wasting the players time by signing stuff, they're wasting everyone elses time that actually go because they are fans and not some middle aged bloke that makes a living off of ebay and craigslist.
Well if I see someone walking around with a trout, I'll give ya a high five
to tell the difference...
I happen to be one of those people that loves to have players sign stuff... I have a lot in my collection... my man cave/bar at home is loaded with stuff...
But because I happen to be an adult, everyone assumes I'm going to sell...
I've never sold a thing in my life.
Yea I'm the same way..I'm a student so maybe it's not so assumed that I'm selling but still, alot do. In my experience eBay guys make it pretty obvious though. You'll see a line with people holding a football or jersey and then those few guys with a whole bag of shit always trying to get the players to sign as much as they can before some worker steps in lol
I'd love to snag one of those matte helmets! This was a great event last year! Hmmm, vacation day?
I've been to a lot of the garage sales over the years (even the ones that were run by the AA Alumni Club, when Athletics let them use it for a scholarship fundraiser), and I don't think I've ever seen a football helmet for sale. Michigan's policy seems to be to very intentionally not sell game-used or team-issued football helmets.
gets offered to high schools. Our local school accumulated a good portion of our weight room for around $1500.
Quick Question. I have never been to the garage sale. I am wondering what is usually for sale there and at what kind of prices?
I don't remember all prices, but random things I do remember: jerseys were 50, autographed baseballs 5, wooden bats 5 or 10, t shirts 1-5, polos 15, cletes 25, footballs 20, old programs and stuff like that 5.
Man they're gouging these days. I remember when you could buy football pants for 2 bucks each and basketball game shorts for 5. Around 2004 or 5 I bought a pair of Nike basketball practice shorts for a buck, they're probably the best quality gym shorts I've ever owned.
Yeahh, but considering the massive popularity (just go by when the doors open and check out the line!) the prices are still really good. And the stuff is fairly unique, being used and/or player quality (ie the stiching in the jerseys, pants, shorts)
Expect a lot of clothes made for linemen. If you wear small or multiple X sizes then it's a dreamland of clothing options for you. If you wear medium or large, you're not getting any merchandise without a fist fight
I actually took that day off (along with about 1/3 of July admittedly), so if my wife will let me steal some time from preparations for the kids birthday party, I might go down there early and get in line.
The spacing of these two is interesting though - as I recall, I think that the Garage Sale and the Media Day were both in August and on consecutive days last year. I think the Garage sale is an hour longer than last year too.
Ill be there around 9pm on july 18th to get in line for the garage sale
Are there really good deals at the garage sale?
..yesh
