We were overmatched vs. Bama. But this team could've won every other game without question.

We don't have anyone on the schedule next year that's an automatic L.

I actually think they'll be better. Denard is Denard, but it was still somewhat of a square peg, round hole situation. I think the offensive line will be a lot better with Barnum, Mealer and Omameh out and the young guys with a year to develop.

Defensively, we're going to miss Kovacs like crazy...after that, I think we're just as good if not better.

And you don't think Devin presents the same problem?  He was extremely inaccurate and made poor decisions today.  OL better?  Look at that Lineup.   We'll probably be starting two redshirt freshman.  Defense will be about the same as this year.  Offense will be worse, if that's even possible.

Devin's not an athlete playing QB in a system that only "kind of" fits his skill set.

Gardner can definitely run the offense that we will run. And he'll have an entire offseason to play QB knowing he's the #1 guy.

Unlike 90% of this board --- I was not slurping DG after 2-3 games starting at QB. He played awful teams and bad defenses. He was still trying to come back from WR and be a B1G quarterback.

As for the OL...our OL this year was terrible. It was embarassing how passive they are/were. Next year will DEFINITELY be better if Lewan comes back. Kalis with a year in the S&C program? Miller was pushing for PT late this year and Mealer only kept his job due to consistancy. Omameh is average --- Burzynski or Bryant can give you at least average.

Numbers wise I don't see the offense being elite, but I think they'll be solid if we can develop Darboh, Chesson or the incoming freshmen.

Kalis already has the technique to play.  He just needs to bulk up, which I'm sure he has this past offseason and further this upcoming offseaon.  I am in no way worried about Kalis starting.

Chris Bryant will be healthy, and he was supposed to start this year.  If Lewan returns, the line will be much better than last year.  Miller will be a better center than Mealer, which was probably the biggest weakness on the line.

And the defense will probably be BETTER.  Pipkins will replace Campbell, Countess will be back, Taylor will most likely get better like JT did, if not, Richardson and Avery will be around.  Bolden will be an EXTREMELY smart playing in the LB group.  Again, not worried in the least about him taking over for Demens.  The only place I am kinda worried is SDE, but unlike Roh moving there just this year, we have three guys that have been playing the position.

You need to simmer down.  Michigan will be fine.

If you need drugs to be a good writer, you're not a good writer.

May struggle early, by the end of the year it will be much better than this oline. They will be more like the road graders we want. I think this years oline struggled because most were brought here to rn in space...the key is getting a running back in here who is an actual threat, we need to develop a running game badly. At WR, gallon will be outside, dileo in slot, and darboh or chesson on the other side.

Denard Robinson......They're not going to catch him!

Not that I necessarily disagree with anything you have said, but how can you even claim to make that assertion?  Perhaps he is getting worse and should take the money while he can, but maybe the entirety of the line being terrible has also had an effect on him.  Perhaps he will come back for another year only to get stronger, faster, improve his technique, and his understanding of the game.  The comparison is not precise, but I'm pretty sure Jake Long improved his stock, his strength, and his understanding that last year.  Maybe I'm just crazy, though.

Seriously wouldn't be suprised to see many freshmen step up to major playing time, primarily at the reciever and in the secondary. One thing proven this year, is that our defense is going to fine and will seriously get better. But the offense is something to work on. Without Denard, our offensive output will potentially take a hit. And will we have a newOC or will Borges better be equipped to work with a dual threat QB who works best in a Pro Style offense, in which we can't put a guy in with untied laces and expect him to break off a big run, depsite being pancaked by two defenders.

Tradition is something you cannot bottle. To hell with Ohio.

Indeed. Within this system, there is DIRE need for a power back. Rawls presents great pad level with a strong center of gravity, but he consistently chooses to bounce and does not seem to contain great balance. Vincent Smith explodes to the LOS more effectively, IMO.

Deveon Smith puts up monster numbers (albeit in D2, but w/e) against solid competition in Ohio. The way things are playing out thus far in recruiting, I can't see how we could afford to RS him given our RB depth.

I wouldn't agree to that yet.  I'm still giving him the benefit of the doubt (some, at least).  He seems hesitant to me and lacking the ability to use his angles/speed to set up his blockers.  Personally, I don't think he has a great grasp of the playbook, yet.  I could easily envision this causing a player to "overthink" even the most mundane aspects of the game.  I will wait to pass judgment until he is able to a better rhythm of carries next year (or still prove he doesn't deserve those carries).

The schedule will be easier next season.  Looks like 7 easy wins.

We should beat MSU and PSU on the road.

The Toss up games could be ND, NE, at Northwestern and OSU. Three of these 4 games will be at home. I think this year we could take 2 to 3 of these games.

I can't rule out the unexpected loss!  So 10 to 11 wins -1 will give us a record of 9-3 or 10-2, and most likely a Legends division title. We may have to play OSU twice this season!
