Gameday Wakeup Open Thread
Happy Gameday Everyone! Let the festivities begin.
Just a reminder that the Brock Mealer story will be on the BTN pre-game show today. Should be worth the watch.
We've all seen every Michigan-themed hype video, so here's a generic (yet pretty sweet) one:

Mornin. Got the coolers packed (it's breakfast burritos and snausages today) and the coffee on. Will be headin for the tailgate is just about 43 minutes.
Go Blue!

Can't wait to watch the game! Safe travels to those making the trek out to the game. Lets Go Blue!

As much as I've looked forward to watching Michigan on Saturday mornings in the past, I've never had the kind of excitement I have had these last two weeks... getting up and knowing that I'll have the chance to watch DRob play. Like a kid on Christmas morning... I just can't wait...

Never? How old are you, 3?
September 18th, 2010 at 8:24 AM ^
Until they edit this to include Denard's past and future highlight real jukes/throws/OMG HOW'D HE DO THAT moments.
September 18th, 2010 at 8:27 AM ^
I am currently stuck at work, and likely will be all day. Had to turn down free tickets to the game too.
I guess my ESPN score alerts via text message will have to suffice.

The only reason you need a job is to make money with which you can purchase Michigan tickets. But he had access to FREE tickets. Ergo, no need for employment.
September 18th, 2010 at 8:42 AM ^
Slingbox or some other new fangled software that lets you watch the game on your computer or phone?
That, or quit your job. Prioritize, man.
September 18th, 2010 at 8:56 AM ^
Booze is not free. So I am at work.
September 18th, 2010 at 9:24 AM ^
Well, try to sneak a peek at the game at some point.
September 18th, 2010 at 8:33 AM ^
Watching BTN right now, and they were talking about how Iowa's defense is so good because they've kept opponents' scoring under 30 points for the last 32 games... how the hell does that say you have good defense?
September 18th, 2010 at 8:36 AM ^
Does anyone know if the DRob story is going to be on the 9am ESPNU Gameday or the 10am ESPN Gameday. I cannot commit myself to watching that much Gmeday for the only story I want to see.
September 18th, 2010 at 9:02 AM ^
There is no way they relegate that story to ESPNU. Denard Robinson is THE story in college football, maize-and-blue tinted shades be damned.

Great video, thanks for the post. I was hoping they forgot about the Horror. I was wrong.
Watching BTN now and enjoying some breakfast. I don't know who the new guy is on BTN, but he makes me feel uncomfortable. I checked the BTN website but about half their on-air talent has a company logo as their profile pic.
I'm excited as hell to see what happens today with the quarterbacks and runningbacks.....I'm sure RR would like to develop other talent. Let's see what the boys can do.
And I can't wait for the nightcap. I am anticipating an epic State meltdown. That would enhance my day.
September 18th, 2010 at 8:45 AM ^
Well, good afternoon for me already over here in Belgium. Thanks for the video, I watched that awhile back, still is a good one.
Looking forward to the game today, hope we play well and get everyone some time in the game.
Should be a great day! GO BLUE!!

Not too far from where you were, but Belgium is a small little country. And Stella is gross, I hope you had some Jupiler or Duvel while you were here, those are the best beers. Nothing you can get in America will ever compare.

Your right when it comes to being in the states. I guess being over here makes me forget the actual bad beers sometimes.

Bruges was one of my most favorite spots to travel to when I lived in Luxembourg.

Good Morning all...looking like a shitty day to be tailgating. I'd still rather be in AA than on my couch, however.

it's down to the man cave. Go Blue!
September 18th, 2010 at 9:16 AM ^
Picture him in a cape of Maize and Blue running down to his man cave and being met by a butler, Batman-style? Yes? No? No, I didn't think so. Ok, I should leave for the game soon.
GO BLUE!

More "Al Gore: ManBearPig Hunter" style

"They're like pig droppings, except more manbear-like."

Upsets today? I think Iowa will go down against Arizona. And why in the hell is Gameday at Auburn? Auburn is going to destroy Clemsuck.
September 18th, 2010 at 9:09 AM ^
Book it.
September 18th, 2010 at 9:47 AM ^
I'm taking the 19.5 points and ECU over Virginia Tech. Helloooo freefall.
September 18th, 2010 at 9:27 AM ^
Gameday being @ Auburn only means there are no really good games between ranked teams today. I would have had them go to ASU, imo. Glad they didn't go to MSU, that would have fed lil bro's ego. My guess is that if everything else is even, they will pick a southern school to be at, maybe for the ladies. I can't blame them for that.
September 18th, 2010 at 9:35 AM ^
Not sure if I can say much after that but I think Iowa/Arizona would have been a good game for Gameday.

Awesome! I'm sure she's not the only one puking in AA right now.
September 18th, 2010 at 9:34 AM ^
I don't know what to say to this, other than "+1 to you sir!"
September 18th, 2010 at 9:59 AM ^
Anyone else watching this "Big Ten Tailgate" show with these clowns doing random stuff at Illinois? First off, why trick me into fliping to your channel implying there is going to be something about football? Second, how did this show, with these hosts ever get on the air? I need to start sleeping until Gameday/BTN Preview shows start.
September 18th, 2010 at 10:00 AM ^
Beer is in the fridge and the man cave is very manly. I'm ready.

An Auburn fan on Gameday has a sign that says: Corso, please don't pick us.

It's going to be hard getting used to a respectable, likeable coach at ND. He does seem to be a classy guy...even admitted he was "grumpy" after last week's defeat.
September 18th, 2010 at 10:25 AM ^
I have to agree. Kelly seems like a decent guy - probably will piss me off at some point, but right now he seems like a good fit for ND.
September 18th, 2010 at 11:24 AM ^
more than Dantonio. Biggest d-bag in college football.
September 18th, 2010 at 10:34 AM ^
This Boise St. discussion is crazy to me - after 2 weeks, I don't think anybody should be putting a "ceiling" on how high Boise St. can rise. Yes, they don't play the type of schedule that usually deserves to play for the MNC, but at some point BSU can only win so much before people have to reevaluate this thinking. No, I don't think they should play for the MNC if a couple of top teams have 1 loss, but I also think they should be ahead of any 2-loss team in America if they go undefeated. And for Saban to say that he plays a super-tough schedule in the SEC and thus he should always be given the benefit for the doubt over non-AQ teams, look no further than Utah 2 years ago.

Denard interview coming up next
September 18th, 2010 at 11:13 AM ^
That was a glorious 10 minutes of tv for any Michigan fan. Pretty good interview by EA
September 18th, 2010 at 11:02 AM ^
In the midst of ZOMG DENARD, which I am also excited to see, I think it could be interesting to see how Devin Gardner reacts to extended playing time. If that turns out to be the case.
Other than that, just win baby.
September 18th, 2010 at 2:29 PM ^
Defensively we are as bad as we thought we were before the season started. Lucky enough for us we have Denard and he was able to carry us to two wins against big time opponents. Teams like Wiscy, Iowa, and MSU are licking their chops to pound the rock against this defense, and that makes me sick. GERG needs to get it together, I realize our lack of experience but this is an FCS team made up of misfit transfers and they've taken it to our defense all day. If it weren't for Denard we would be seeing App State 2.0
