the just released schedules were a flat-out statement that the B10 doesn't believe SOS will matter in playoff selection
Gameday Prediction Thread
28-14 Carolina.....sorry I have zero trust in Borges to come up with something innovative with Devin/Denard, I see a full replay of the 2nd half against Ohio today.
I'm about 10 minutes from leaving to head over to the stadium. Weather is perfect and at least where I'm staying the USC fans outnumber is about 5-1.
I'm saying 27-17 Michigan cause Denard runs wild in his farewell game and (god willing) we don't turn the ball over.
I'm heading in. Go fucking BLUE!
well said. Have fun today.
I don't think we will win, but I think we can; for me it comes down to the offenses ability to score touchdowns. I think the first team to 24 wins this game and the game could turn on a special teams play (lets hope its our return for a touchdown).
If I had to bet my first born I would say USC (NTUSC) 27 Michigan 23
If I had nothign to lose i would say Michigan 31 USC(NTUSC) 10
like Is said, have fun today!
We are the dead.
Dunno where you're at, but it seems like everyone I've gone, we've been outnumbered by a lot of SC fans. Hopefully all the UM people aren't staying around Tampa or something
If you're doing nothing, how do you know when you're finished?
For some reason I have a good feeling about this game. Michigan wins 21-13, Roundtree has a big game.
ps-We have not won back to back bowl games since 2000/2001 Orange-Citrus bowl.
Gamecocks. No faith that Borges will try to utilize his weapons in an effective, unpredictable way.
Feel comfortable with us playing SEC opponents for another couple years. I just don't think we are good enough up front yet. Call me a troll....I pray I am wrong, I want to beat the SEC soooooo bad..... Go Blue, prove me as an idiot.....
South Carolina 31
Michigan 16
Denard Robinson......They're not going to catch him!
I know that's kind of a trite thing to say, but for some reason, I think it's actually going to have more of an impact on today's game than usual. We win an ugly, close game that comes down to making a big stop late in the fourth.
Michigan - 20
USC - 17
"Coach, if you need one yard, I'll get you three yards. If you need five yards, I'll get you three yards." -Leroy Hoard
on this one. but i'd say we have at least a puncher's chance no matter what - que the 'rocky' music, fade to 'the victors', go blue!
Quiverfull
60% chance these will be the top threads tonight:
1. Fire Borges now or after signing day?
2. Gruden to ND, Kelly to SF, Harbaugh to UM?
3. Why did Carr veto Miles/Tenuta?
4. If we kept RR, Robinson 1 or 2 Heismans?
5. Dave Brandon same as Hitler or worse?
Sorry but I've got little confidence in the offensive game plan after seeing the OSU debacle. I hope I'm wrong. Go Blue!
a huge game from funchess. I'm (optimistically) hoping Borges decides to make him a big part of the game plan
That would be awesome! But having a blocking TE in next to Schofield will probably be gameplan. On othe sets we should have a FB blocking this tremendous pass rushing team. Maybe Brandon Moore will show up and give all the extra help we need. Having those blockers obviously limits the amount of recievers on the field.
Tradition is something you cannot bottle. To hell with Ohio.
I also have little confidence in the Offensive Game Plan. Our Offensive coach has lost us atleast 2 games and almost lost the MSU game. Not confident in his schemes or play calling.
Life's a game of Inches
20-13, South Carolina.
My official prediction is Michigan 100, Hurricane Ditka -3.
-- Hot ice!
My head says, yes, this will be a repeat of the 2nd half against OSU. My heart says Denard takes things into his own hands. Put them together, we win in overtime 27-21.
I believe South Caralina is a legit top 10 team. Michigan is barely A top 25 team. We only beat two decent teams all year. Our offensive line is very average and that's going to be exploited by a very good Gamecock defensive line. However, I think Deven Gardner will handle the rush and complete some passes against this agressive defense. Look for Michigan to score some points. South Caralina will probably score more than you think. Our secondary makes me nervous. Michigan 34 South Caralina 33. Remember this a bowl game and sometimes the defenses don't show up.
Defenses stand strong as they only allow a few fieldgoals. Then the offenses find a way to work through both defenses. After UM turns the ball over on a costly fumble at a tied 20-20 game, Ryan puts a huge rush on the QB to force a bad throw. We get the ball back with under minute, a few passes to gallon and a screen to #16 puts Gibbons in FG range. He nails it as the clock runs out.
23-20 Michigan
Tradition is something you cannot bottle. To hell with Ohio.
20-17 Michigan. I don't see either teams getting a whole lot going on offense. I think most points will come off of big plays.
The 2nd half offense vs OSU really took the wind out of my sails. If Borges doesn't F this up for the players we have a shot. Unfortunately he probably will. 17 - 6 SC
I got the shotgun. You got the briefcase. It's all in the game though, right?
If Borges implements an a iowa-like game plan, UM 21-18.
If all we get is V. Smith in the power I, it will probably be a 21-7 South Carolina kind of game.
It's been a lot. Its been a roller coaster that for some reason seemed like it would never get good. But you know what? We kept fighting. It's like that old saying goes, "Those Who Stay Will Be Champions." -David Molk
I think we match up well defensively so as long as we hang on to the damn ball on offense we will prevail! Meeechigan Wins 23-20
BORGES, BORGES, BORGES...
I have little or no faith in him using Denard. So I say we lose 21-14.
neoavatara.com/blog
do with Borgaes - it is still all about the same ineffective offensive line....SC wins 27 - 17 - Really hope I am wrong.
If someone ever invented a low fat vitamin - filled vegetable that tasted like fudge covered Rice Krispies treats - I'd probably eat better
One of the fundamental responsibilities of any coach in any sport is to minimize your weaknesses and take maximum advantage of your strengths. You're certainly right about the nature of our OL, but that's exactly why Borges' game-planning has been so wanting. If your OL has trouble in straight-ahead run blocking and your regular RBs are not particularly shifty or fleet of foot, why in God's name would you keep Denard—the one player who has shown any ability to gain yardage with very few holes—on the bench for a significant part of your main rivalry game? Why would you make such little use of a tight end who is a matchup nightmare for virtually every DB or LB who tries to cover him?
Everyone loved the Borges game plan when it worked against Iowa. The truth is we don't have players in the trenches to beat teams with better talent especially if we have turnovers. Even last year we had problems (Molk and Martin really made a difference) and could have lost to ND and VT without the ball bouncing our way.
Very little faith in Borges. 21-17 Cocks.
Combine for 22 carries and 36 yards. Denard gets 8 carries for 112 yards. Cocks 27, um 16.
Hope I'm reverse jinxing here!
Michigan
If an OSU fan divorces his wife are they still brother and sister?
we have played at least three teams that are better than USC and we could have beaten two of those teams.
Who can say if Borges hasn't learned something? We know the players have grown through the trials, maybe today they stand together and smash USC? If nothing else we have a chance...
We are the dead.
N. Georgia 24 - Michigan 13
Love & Hate are horns on the same goat.
Al Borges bashing is so 2012. Today the game plan will be willy-nilly, with Denard all over the place. I see Denard with rushing, receiving, passing and special teams TDs.
UM 38, SC 24
For realz?
Ned Flanders: You know what they say: "With great power comes great responsibility."
Homer: Who said that?! I'll kill them with my power!
Denard Robinson becomes the all time career QB rushing yards record holder.
So the Wolverines will send out a QB to make his fifth start, be without their starting RB and feature an OL that has, with one exception, not distinguished itself to line-up against a pretty highly ranked defense...and if they don't win it will be the fault of Borges?
So constantly running Denard up the gut when lined up at QB when everyone knew he wasn't throwing vs OSU was a good idea? Got it.
I got the shotgun. You got the briefcase. It's all in the game though, right?
Why, yes. Yes, it was.
Denard Robinson vs. OSU: 10 carries, 122 yards, 12.2 yards/carry, 1 touchdown
Take out the 67-yard touchdown? Okay.
9 carries, 55 yards, 6.1 yards/carry.
It might not have been imaginative, but it worked very well. But I guess you can ignore the facts if you want.
Needed to rush more on the edge against Ohio, not up the middle.
Denard Robinson......They're not going to catch him!
The numbers suggest that the play calls for Denard were effective. You can't just run outside every time. It seems that people are acting like Borges could have called the same play 25 times and it would have worked every time. A couple plays didn't work for Denard, but 122 yards and 1 touchdown on just 10 carries is pretty darn good, no matter how you slice it.
No it wasn't. After the 1st half everyone knew he was not able to throw the ball. Do you know the 1st half v 2nd half breakdown of his carries from the QB position?
Shit, look at the quotes from OSU players after the game. They were told Denard wasn't passing the ball. When he lines up at QB there's no one else to pass the ball on the field
I got the shotgun. You got the briefcase. It's all in the game though, right?
2ND HALF: 6 yards, -2 yards, 0 yards, 1 yard
So he had 3 carries that didn't work well and then he was reportedly too injured to continue.
The other 7 gained him 121 yards and a touchdown.

Early blunder by SC gets us going, Lewan neutralizes Clowney for all but one play and Roundtree continues his late year rise.
One man...Goodbye....Hello Heisman
