GameDay Finale and Noon Games Open Thread
Last half hour of College GameDay wrappping up down in Tallahassee. I think Florida State blows the Canes' out personally. "Eat Mor Ibis" and "Nevin Shapiro paid for this sign" are my picks for best signs, FWIW.
A slate of primarily Big Ten Noon games is coming up: Purdue can do their annual "somehow hang with Ohio State and manage to lose in the final minutes". BTN
Wisconsin is in Iowa City taking on the Hawkeyes. Chris Borland is apparently battling a hamstirng injury; big loss if so, Iowa's run game may be elevated because of this. ABC
Illinois @ Penn St. Meh. ESPN.
Virginia Tech @ Boston College, ESPN2.
(Mississippi St. @ Jadaveon Clowney U @ 12:30, ESPN3)
Beat Sparty. Can't wait for this one. 31 - 20 Michigan, making for feel-good evening/night ahead.

I thought this one was pretty funny myself...
November 2nd, 2013 at 11:54 AM ^
Wow. That is brilliant.
November 2nd, 2013 at 11:49 AM ^
Gameday is talking up OSU-Purdue like it's actually going to still be a game with 10 minutes left in the first quarter. Right.
November 2nd, 2013 at 12:15 PM ^
14-0 already. Called it.
November 2nd, 2013 at 11:54 AM ^
The whole bring some alum who is famous to pick games who has no idea what he's talking about thing needs to stop.
November 2nd, 2013 at 11:55 AM ^
Bill Murray needs to be on retainer, basically.
November 2nd, 2013 at 12:09 PM ^
How many of his picks were bad...?
November 2nd, 2013 at 11:55 AM ^
Going to be sitting in an academic building on FSU's campus to watch Michigan-Michigan State and then head to the FSU-Miami game. Seems like a good year to have started grad school at FSU.
November 2nd, 2013 at 12:01 PM ^
Yeah this knob "didn't know Big Ten country played football still". Wonderful. Obviously has no clue about the landscape of college football, which fine, but why are you selected to give picks if your ignorant to the whole concept? Also, why does Corso have a scarf?*
*Well, to cover up the vibrant yellow underneath apparenly!

Who was the celebrity guest picker?
November 2nd, 2013 at 11:58 AM ^
This celebrity guest picker is awkward to watch, and his bashing of the big ten certainly didn't help
November 2nd, 2013 at 12:00 PM ^
Nerdy country singer should've used anti-perspirant.
November 2nd, 2013 at 12:07 PM ^
You're funny. I'm not sure people think of Jake Owen as a nerd
November 2nd, 2013 at 2:33 PM ^
I'm not in to country music but he seemed "city" and constantly referenced tennis buddies.

Boiler Up!
November 2nd, 2013 at 12:01 PM ^
These early games blow so hard. Not exactly a showcase of B1G talent.
November 2nd, 2013 at 12:06 PM ^
You're probably a hard sell but this Iowa-Wisconsin game should be good; classic Big Ten game. I'm guess maybe I'm just happy to see them playing again.
November 2nd, 2013 at 12:09 PM ^
That's the one I'm watching, but classic B1G football is an aquired taste.
November 2nd, 2013 at 12:06 PM ^
OSU. I mean how many games can really show our conference talent, maybe 2 a week...at most
November 2nd, 2013 at 12:04 PM ^
No drama from Purdue today
November 2nd, 2013 at 12:06 PM ^
Good Lord Ohio scored already.
November 2nd, 2013 at 12:09 PM ^
Great punt by Purdue. Losers
November 2nd, 2013 at 12:10 PM ^
Cool BTN feature
November 2nd, 2013 at 12:12 PM ^
It's 12:12 and Purdue lost....fuck
November 2nd, 2013 at 12:12 PM ^
It is becoming apparent that Purdue is attempting to figure how how exactly to get a first down by employing Zeno's Dichotomy Paradox. No matter, as Purdue led the yardage battle until that second Buckeye TD just now.
November 2nd, 2013 at 12:43 PM ^
each time you can never get there? Not with Big Ten refs, at least where PSU is concerned.
November 2nd, 2013 at 12:13 PM ^
This may be the game that gives boilerquest a chance to be the worst ever!
November 2nd, 2013 at 12:13 PM ^
Iowa decided to give fans red pom poms for the game in which they're playing Wisconsin. Brilliant.
November 2nd, 2013 at 12:14 PM ^
Coolers are a fillin today.
November 2nd, 2013 at 12:15 PM ^
Boilerquest lives. Will OSU reach 80?
November 2nd, 2013 at 12:19 PM ^
Urban will only take it to 70. Wouldn't want to be a bully.
November 2nd, 2013 at 2:15 PM ^
Ohio may want to consider trying to run it up on people. They're 4th in the current pecking order and with no strong opponents left (sorry, us at #21 doesn't cut it) they don't have a chance to make up any ground against Bama, Oregon or FSU. They need to crank out blowouts or they're going to remain at #4 (this assuming all four teams go undefeated)
November 2nd, 2013 at 12:16 PM ^
Iowa D looking good early.
November 2nd, 2013 at 12:22 PM ^
OSU is just clicking all over. Must be nice. I'd like to watch a few games where we don't have to worry about shitty teams hanging around all day.
November 2nd, 2013 at 2:53 PM ^
It gets boring after a while.
November 2nd, 2013 at 12:24 PM ^
Iowa should go for it
November 2nd, 2013 at 12:28 PM ^
Love the zipper stitches on the new Purdue helmets. It's a great look--they should issue knee pads with those, too.
November 2nd, 2013 at 12:35 PM ^
I think they're train tracks
November 2nd, 2013 at 12:38 PM ^
+5 Normal
November 2nd, 2013 at 12:35 PM ^
OSU's offense is moving along great. Not sure about their defense, but Purdue certainly won't challenge them.
November 2nd, 2013 at 12:35 PM ^
Meanwhile, Greg Davis is in the booth, fumbling with papers and trying to figure out which quick out route to run on 3rd and 8, if that look said anything...
November 2nd, 2013 at 12:42 PM ^
Iowa's being gift wrapped field position by good defense and wind that's killing Wiscy's punts. They've 3 points to show for it.
We'll see if they can manage something on this drive.
Of course not. Spielman mentioning how Ferentz will just punt and keep winning field position battle. What the hell good is it if you don't ever get any points out of it?!
November 2nd, 2013 at 12:42 PM ^
Tuning in just in time to see the Buckeyes up 28-0 over Purdue in the first quarter; I'd have trouble putting up numbers like that on NCAA Football on X-box...
November 2nd, 2013 at 12:42 PM ^
Punted on 4th & 4 on the Wisconsin 35. Field position and wind blah blah, probably coulda/shoulda gone for it.
November 2nd, 2013 at 12:43 PM ^
Iowa punting from the Wisky's 35 with only 4 yards to go! They even have the wind for a long FG attempt.
November 2nd, 2013 at 12:44 PM ^
I'm pretty sure OSU first stringers will be sitting starting in the second quarter
November 2nd, 2013 at 12:46 PM ^
No way Urban dosn't pile on the points. Starters in for at least the half.
November 2nd, 2013 at 12:51 PM ^
Too bad for him it won't make a difference. They will remain four in the polls. Destroying Purdue is nothing special and the voters know that.
November 2nd, 2013 at 12:55 PM ^
Exactly, yet Urban is a self absorbed media hound and understands how to play the game. He'll be there waving scores around should any of the 3 in front of OSU lose.
November 2nd, 2013 at 12:56 PM ^
Ohio State already has 168 yards on just 16 plays - 10.5 yards per snap. Furthermore, seven first downs and they are 2-3 on 3rd down in just the first 17 or 18 minutes of the game. On the other sideline, Boilerquest continues in earnest.
