Gameday / Early Games Open Thread
The blog returns. Gameday is in Fargo. All of the noon games are boring. Actually Minnesota takes on San Jose State which features David Fales, a QB with legit NFL prospects. Will be interesting to see Minnesota against it's first non-abysmal competition. Upset watch in Minneapolis

It's why you schedule teams like FAMU - to set meaningless records for offensive production.

The stuff people film of their pets and post on their Internet is amazing.
edit: the Internet

Fales had few fails, if you look at the stat line:
12/16 for 294 yards, 18.4 YPA, 2 TDs.
....and then he threw a pick. Whoops.
September 21st, 2013 at 1:58 PM ^
Big pick there!

Good job Gophers except for PAT. C'mon guys.

These Virginia Tech camo uniforms are pretty awful. That's probably why they are losing to Marshall at home.

Re: your signature, it should be "You will suffer humiliation when the sports team from my area defeats the sports team from your area..."

Why does Minnesota have a cannon?
September 21st, 2013 at 2:08 PM ^
So those damn North Dakotans don't get any crazy ideas.

The moose.

Kinda jealous of Narduzzi and MSU

Watching football in Battle Creek, MI and my channel guide just today shows channel 13 WZZM for an 8pm start.
Go Blue!

Then she takes a tripod to the face... Talk about unlucky
September 21st, 2013 at 2:18 PM ^
Took that like a champ.
September 21st, 2013 at 2:13 PM ^
You would think after playing Stanford that SJSU would be ready for a power run game.
September 21st, 2013 at 2:18 PM ^
One of these teams is not like the other so far:
San Jose State - 303 yards passing, 31 yards rushing
Minnesota - 61 yards passing, 243 yards rushing
September 21st, 2013 at 2:21 PM ^
typical classless buckeyes running up the score on a patsy. Ironically every score is going hurt Ohio. FAMU is going to be a SOS anchor for them in the computer rankings.
September 21st, 2013 at 2:21 PM ^
So.....Brionte Dunn still can't get PT in a game like this? Good thing OSU was his dream school.
September 21st, 2013 at 2:24 PM ^
osu still has their starters in 62-0. Thats how they roll
September 21st, 2013 at 2:22 PM ^
I really like the Minnesota matte helmets, but it bothers me to no end that the color doesn't match the jersey.
September 21st, 2013 at 2:23 PM ^
What that ohio running back's name that we tried to recruit a couple years ago? Why hasn't he had any carries yet? They've rolled six other backs out there.
September 21st, 2013 at 2:25 PM ^
Brionte Dunn I bet is who you're talking about?
Yeah, I'm not a recruiting guy but I've wondered about him myself; I assume he's been passed up on the depth chart over the past couple years.
September 21st, 2013 at 2:28 PM ^
Did Elliot pass him? He has 7 carries for 102 yards and a score
September 21st, 2013 at 2:25 PM ^
He's dyamonte's cousin, I think.
September 21st, 2013 at 2:30 PM ^
Yes it's Dunn (Canton, OH) he played in 11 games last season but has obviously been passed on the depth charts. I've also seen rumors of him transfering, although he's said publicly he is staying.
September 21st, 2013 at 2:41 PM ^
Even last year, he only carried the ball in three games. His other game action must have been on special teams.
September 21st, 2013 at 2:42 PM ^
Rumor is that he refused to be on special teams. So he is in the dog house. Prob will transfer.

North Texas just blocked a punt to tie Georiga @ Georgia at 21 in the third Q
September 21st, 2013 at 2:27 PM ^
Even if I'm stretching it, it does make me feel a little bit better about our game last week. Parity.
September 21st, 2013 at 2:28 PM ^
Wow, yeah just saw this myself...Wish this was on somwhere I could see it, nothing else is catching my attention at this point (not that interested in GT-UNC).
September 21st, 2013 at 2:39 PM ^
I have this game on local, "MyLVTV".
September 21st, 2013 at 2:26 PM ^
LOL Georgia.
September 21st, 2013 at 2:42 PM ^
I don't think we as Michigan fans have the right to LOL at anyone after last weekend.
September 21st, 2013 at 3:00 PM ^
I have no recollection of anything that happened last weekend. What are you referring to?
September 21st, 2013 at 2:28 PM ^
Are we allowed to laugh at other teams struggles yet? If so LOL Georgia!
September 21st, 2013 at 2:28 PM ^
Mark Richt might seriously be on the hot seat after today.
September 21st, 2013 at 2:33 PM ^
Mark Richt has been on the hot seat forever.
September 21st, 2013 at 2:36 PM ^
I don't think he's ever been in serious danger of losing his job; he's just taken some flak from the fanbase. That could change if he loses today.
September 21st, 2013 at 2:35 PM ^
The scary thing about Georgia's performance is just how inefficient it is. Over twice the yardage of North Texas yet the score is tied. Of course, Mark Richt has also lost control of his punt and kick coverage, which explains much of that stat.
September 21st, 2013 at 2:50 PM ^
I'd rather this than yardage parity with Akron.
September 21st, 2013 at 2:52 PM ^
North Texas has -1 yards rushing right now and only 184 passing. Georgia has over 400 yards and only one turnover. Not sure how this game is so close
September 21st, 2013 at 2:57 PM ^
Blocked punt TD + KO return TD
September 21st, 2013 at 2:34 PM ^
Georgia 21 UNT 21 3rd
Vandy 10 UMASS 7 4th.
SEC likely very overrated again.
September 21st, 2013 at 2:41 PM ^
Vandy's not terribly highly rated to begin with. Meanwhile, Georgia's pulling a Michigan.
September 21st, 2013 at 3:19 PM ^
Ole Miss is ranked based on beating a bad Texas team and Vandy. Georgia at the start of the year was suppose to be a national title contender. Michigan definitely was not. The expectations of the two simply are not comparable.
September 21st, 2013 at 2:42 PM ^
I don't think we can call the SEC "overrated" (much less "overrated again") until its streak of seven straight national titles ends.

ESS-EEE-SEE!!!!
September 21st, 2013 at 2:37 PM ^
Still early in Athens. Definitely keeping an eye on it though.
