The blog returns. Gameday is in Fargo.
All of the noon games are boring. Actually Minnesota takes on San Jose State which features David Fales, a QB with legit NFL prospects. Will be interesting to see Minnesota against it's first non-abysmal competition. Upset watch in Minneapolis
Gameday / Early Games Open Thread
The blog returns. Gameday is in Fargo.
This my "bye week" as a CFB viewer.
Oh cool, this thing is on.
So Dashawn Hand didn't commit. God damnit MGoBlog! Why must you be down on CFB Saturday?
over/under on turnovers today. I was thinking 1.5.
I'm going to go under. Why? I don't know.
He's going to have a clean game. 65% passing but only 250 yards.
I'm take the right at 1.5.
An early INT and fumble handoff that's only half his fault.
I'll take the under. I think he has his obligatory 1, but that's it.
*EDIT: My own comment made me curious, so I just checked and verified that Gardner has yet to start a game at QB and not throw at least one INT. That includes against Iowa.
MSU/ND and the Mich game tonight are the only ones that seem worth watching. I'm also going on the under for Gardner's turnovers. But he will surely throw 1 int
I think he'll go INT-free tonight. Just a hunch.
Lots of signs taking shots at the Big Ten in Fargo today.
"Envy BiSon Pity Big TeN" (letters make up ESPN)
and there's another one I saw with a picture of stampeding bison and a guy with a Big Ten shirt on running in front of the bison.
When FCS teams are mocking your conference, hmm. I suppose things are bad.
wears shape ups
Isn't this the team that beat the defending big 12 champs in week 1? Why are they not picking on the Big 12? The only thing I can think is because they are surrounded by Big Ten country so they are just full of envy.
I know it's NDSU and not NoDak but there's a lot of WCHA hockey fans out there which generally hate the Big Ten for ruining the WCHA (which is SEC-football-level chest thumping out there)
They beat Minnesota 2 years ago. I guess that means they own the B1G....or something.
I was gonna say, when the Dakota FCS teams beat Minnesota every year, they will get a bad impression of the Big Ten.
Then again, when Minnesota is your conception of Big Ten football, you may not be getting the best impression...
Their main experience with the Big Ten is with Minnesota, so...
Florida A&M at Ohio State or Western Michigan at Iowa - BTN
North Carolina at Georgia Tech - ESPN
SJSU at Minnesota - ESPN2
Vanderbilt at UMass - ESPNNews
Wake Forest at Army - CBS Sports Network
Louisiana Tech at Kansas - Fox Sports 1
ESPN3, if you get that far - FIU at Louisville, Toledo at CMU, North Texas at Georgia, Pittsburgh at Duke, Tulane at Syracuse.
Seems like a good day to sleep in late or do yard work. There's not a single one of those games that inspires me to go to all the effort it takes to pick up the remote and turn the tv on.
I ran a marathon. Should have watched football
Weak day for sure. I'll be watching Iowa struggle with Western Michigan and probably the Tennesee-Flordida game. It's still college football and it's still a Saturday in the Fall, it's all good.
My viewing schedule is this - Minn vs SJSU at noon, ND Michigan State at 3:30, Ind vs Mizzou at 7, and Michigan UConn at 8.
Corso picked Akron over ULL as his upset today. I'd be interested to watch that game also at some point
Also, SJSU over Minnesota is not an "upset". Minnesota was started by being favored by 4 at home, so these teams are supposedly evenly matched on home field.
I will be consuming lots of meat (mostly pork) and watching football. I think I'm stopping by Biercamp in Ann Arbor for some treats. Never been, but have heard they are at least decent. Any suggestions on what to buy are welcome...
Mostly everything at Biercamp is good, but moderately priced. Don't walk in thinking you'll be paying Kroger prices for sausage -- the sausage is usually around $1.50 per link (forgot how much it is per pound), but is pretty good with a wide variety of types. Bacon is great (but pricy), too. Make sure to get a pulled pork sandwich for the road -- only $5 and definitely the best deal in the store, and after looking at all that meat you'll be hungry.
Taking you up on the sandwich. Also went with jalapeño and cheddar sticks with some chili cheese bacon brats. We shall see.
a butt for pulled pork as I type!
I smell a medical redshirt in the offing.
Poor little Bison's name is going to be Corso for the remainder of its life!
My pick for MSU/Notre Dame
Just kneel the ball you clown!
What the hell was that Florida A&M guy thinking
just go down in the endzone you fool!!!!
Ferentz is 0-2 against Western. I think he finally beats them today.
I was worried about the site for a couple of minutes, then REALLY worried about me being worried about the blog being down and what that said about me as a person.
But yeah...screw OSU.
The noon slate is bad today. I think I'm going to watch Georgia Tech-North Carolina, in front of a paltry crowd in Atlanta.
There are a few good/interesting games at 3:30. ND-MSU, WVU-Maryland, and Florida-Tennessee.
For some reason I have OSU on both btn channels and no Iowa.
Are there overflow channels?
There are 3 btn channels according to my guide and yet two are OSU and one is an espn feed for the Georgia Tech game. And while the first BTN channel says OSU, the second says Iowa or OSU.
right now be in commercials??
FAMU sounds like a long-lost orca at Sea World.
I think I'm just going to watch Paul instead.
I'm watching MacGruber. I love this dumb movie.
wow, stay classy OSU...
fail. And a kickoff out of bounds. And their first miss in the red zone. On an interception. All against an FCS team. Now, if FAMU could just get a score or two...
Well, FAMU apparently likes to play the kick coverage a little conservatively and just not touch anyone except for the personal foul there. So, Ohio State gets the ball at the 7 and scores again. 13-0 Buckeyes.
