Gameday / Early Games Open Thread

Submitted by gwkrlghl on

The blog returns. Gameday is in Fargo. All of the noon games are boring. Actually Minnesota takes on San Jose State which features David Fales, a QB with legit NFL prospects. Will be interesting to see Minnesota against it's first non-abysmal competition. Upset watch in Minneapolis

Lots of signs taking shots at the Big Ten in Fargo today.

"Envy BiSon Pity Big TeN" (letters make up ESPN)

and there's another one I saw with a picture of stampeding bison and a guy with a Big Ten shirt on running in front of the bison.

When FCS teams are mocking your conference, hmm.  I suppose things are bad.

Weak day for sure.  I'll be watching Iowa struggle with Western Michigan and probably the Tennesee-Flordida game.  It's still college football and it's still a Saturday in the Fall, it's all good.

My viewing schedule is this - Minn vs SJSU at noon, ND Michigan State at 3:30, Ind vs Mizzou at 7, and Michigan UConn at 8.

Corso picked Akron over ULL as his upset today. I'd be interested to watch that game also at some point

I will be consuming lots of meat (mostly pork) and watching football. I think I'm stopping by Biercamp in Ann Arbor for some treats. Never been, but have heard they are at least decent. Any suggestions on what to buy are welcome...

Mostly everything at Biercamp is good, but moderately priced.  Don't walk in thinking you'll be paying Kroger prices for sausage -- the sausage is usually around $1.50 per link (forgot how much it is per pound), but is pretty good with a wide variety of types.  Bacon is great (but pricy), too.  Make sure to get a pulled pork sandwich for the road -- only $5 and definitely the best deal in the store, and after looking at all that meat you'll be hungry.

I was worried about the site for a couple of minutes, then REALLY worried about me being worried about the blog being down and what that said about me as a person.

But yeah...screw OSU.

The noon slate is bad today. I think I'm going to watch Georgia Tech-North Carolina, in front of a paltry crowd in Atlanta.

There are a few good/interesting games at 3:30. ND-MSU, WVU-Maryland, and Florida-Tennessee.

There are 3 btn channels according to my guide and yet two are OSU and one is an espn feed for the Georgia Tech game.  And while the first BTN channel says OSU, the second says Iowa or OSU.
