This game was eerily similar to the game last year.

...the major difference being that it ended on an incompletion that was a near-interception, rather than an actual interception that resulted in Bill Lynch throwing his gum.

So, my real question to you all -- were you as disappointed as I was that the game did not end with Bill Lynch throwing his gum again?

Someone post that animated .GIF of the gum-throwage again, please.  Calm my nerves.

The thing is, I never really felt like we were in jeopardy of losing this year's game.  Last season we had to come from behind.  This time around, I felt like the worst that would happen at the end is we would miss a FG and have to go to OT.

It had that Illinois aspect as well, with Roundtree going down at the 1 and Michigan not capitalizing to take a 2 TD lead, then immediately surrendering a 99 yard TD drive.

But yes, I'm very, very disappointed that Bill Lynch didn't throw his gum.  When they showed the highlights from last year's game, I was hoping that would be in the reel.

Dnard got beat up a little bit as did Tate last year this time (I don't like that) . Difference this year is Tate is a solid backup and Dnard seems way more durable that Tate was last year (another year in the program)

Indiana has a clean slate, start of B10, decent team, and theyre at home, we won. Plus for us. We talk about it over, Over, and OVER and our defense is inexperienced and at some level not up to top tier, we get it. IU gave us everything they had, EVERYTHING! So you take an old timey old fashioned offense you get the same ending in an old timey, predictable fashion. Im not looking back. Im NOT apologizing, its a long season and Im taking it play by play, win by win AND will stand by the process if (IF) we lose. If you choose to be nonsensical Fanhouse or RCMB is just a click away!

Sometimes, an inferior team can beat you just because they "match up" better.

The best example I can think of is in a different sport than football, but it expresses my idea.  The Pacers were a terrible team but used to look like a great team when they played the "Bad Boys."  It's sorta like Michigan in 2008 playing Wiscy.  The bottom line is that I still feel Michigan is a much better team than Indiana.  They should at least beat Purdue and Illinois this year for seven wins.  I think they have enough to beat MSU next week, too.

I know some are disheartened by this game, but it was another W, and I'm not giving up on this being a very good season until the math makes it impossible.
