This is terrific news. Me and the wife are going to be in Vietnam for this and I was afraid it was gonna be 330 (230am local time). An 11pm local time start makes it much more manageable.
October 5th, 2016 at 12:28 PM ^
...on a study abroad trip, meaning game will start (1am Local Time), be over by 4am. Have to be at breakfast by 7am then hit the airport for a 13 hour flight home. Needless to say I won't be missing a second of that game!

Just make sure that both of you make a post asking where to watch the game from (insert fancy city here). If you could include a vague, almost indetectable sense of superiority, that would be appreciated as well.

"I'll be flying first class to Dubai for my speech on (insert fancy-pants topic). I have just about every streaming program there is but can't bother to find out what my login is for any of them. Could anyone help a poor sap? One of my girlfriends is a big fan as well."

What an unnecessarily dickish comment. I've gotten a lot of good advice from people on here, and your inferiority complex isn't going to factor in to what I post. If you know how to do it, it's not even an expensive trip.

I'll be at the Kremlin....

As for me, I have to work that Saturday and won't get home until the game is over. I was really hoping for a 3:30 EST KO so I could at least see the second half.
The noon KO is interesting as the last three times the game was played with both teams in the top five, KO was at 3:30 EST (1997, 2003, 2006).
October 5th, 2016 at 12:03 PM ^
It will cut down on the drunk ohioans at game time (not eliminate them, mind you...) and hopefully protect the Michigan fans that are in attendance. Keep everything in the daylight...

So stupid.

But the thought of playing Ohio State at night in The Shoe terrifies me.

You damn right. No one knows me so I'm planning to fly down as an Irish fan dressed in Shamrock gear after the game and start whooping their candy asses like Michigan will have earlier in the day. On and off the field they will die that day.
October 5th, 2016 at 11:07 AM ^
Not that anyone asked me, but noon is a great kick-off time for The Game. This year or any year.
October 5th, 2016 at 11:08 AM ^
I'm thrilled that it isn't, though.

It would be poetic for it to be 1 vs 2 and Jim avenged the loss in 06...but I would not complain if Wiscy or someone else tripped up OSU beforehand.
October 5th, 2016 at 11:48 AM ^
Yup. I am absolutely pulling for Wisconsin to beat OSU. It won't happen, though. OSU is just way too good to lose to Wisconsin.
October 5th, 2016 at 11:56 AM ^
to make me happy, but I'd like to see how OSU handles Wisconsin's defense.
If Wisconsin can keep OSU under 35ish points I'll feel pretty damn good about our chances to keep them in the 20's.
October 5th, 2016 at 1:04 PM ^
I'm not sure I follow that logic.
If OSU scorse 5 touchdowns (35 points) on that defense, we should be alarmed not encouraged.
October 5th, 2016 at 1:29 PM ^
If Wisconsin can knock 20 points off of that, with a defense not as good as ours, I think that's encouraging. Especially since they seem to always put up 42 points against us (06, 08, and the last 3 years).

or even if we get tripped up, it should still decide the division and a path to the playoff. It'll hurt the Game of the Decade hype, but one loss for either or both teams doesn't change the big picture goals. Like the MSU loss to Nebraska was irrelevant last year.
October 5th, 2016 at 5:16 PM ^
It was irrelevant because MSU won the Big Ten. A one-loss Big Ten team that does not win the conference is not going to the CFP.
October 5th, 2016 at 3:53 PM ^
They could do a night game at least once. I mean comeon guys, lighten up. That stage would be so huge. Especially like in 2018 or something. It'd have to be in Cbus because cant have a bunch of idiot suckeye fans destroying Ann Arbor after getting ass fisted.
Edit: As has been talked about before also, The Game should have both home jerseys worn by each team. At least once or twice. That would look so ganster! Plus, I guarantee you there are at least 200,000 young males who like football and turn the channel when they see the suckeye away uniforms. Grey and white, yay...click...channel change to SEC game.

Strong, yet overrated defense coupled with a shit-show of an offense. Although I hope for the best, I still won't be surprised to see a final score something in the neighborhood of OSU 42 - Wisconsin 13
October 5th, 2016 at 11:11 AM ^
ABC or ESPN? What could possibly bump this to ESPN?
October 5th, 2016 at 11:27 AM ^
Where, like, 99% of the country gets The Game on ABC and Kentucky/Louisville on ESPN while the other 1% of the country gets the reverse.
