I thought it was illegal for CCHA refs to call penalties on players that do not wear Block M jerseys with wings on their helmets.

How are we getting power play goals?

Someone needs to get a body on the late man who's jumping up into the play.  Gave up a goal in each game this weekend, last night when the puck bounced into the slot from a battle at the side of the net, tonight after a rebound.

PP units need to be more aware at the end of the penalty.  Odd man rushes given up once in each game this weekend, goal last night, tonight WMU overpassed on a 3-on-1 at the end of a period and ran out of time.

problem on the late man situation was the guy that should pick up the late man was already crowded around the net in that mess.  The other thing is, Western did a really good job, I thought, of finding the late man and the late man getting into the play quick enough to impact it.  The trailer is always hard to defend, that's what makes it such an effective play if he's not too far behind.  They could have defended it better, but I'll wait to see how they do against a team that's not as good as Western (can you imagine considering WMU anything close to good 2 years ago?!  Major kudos to Blashill for turning Western around and Murray for continuing that if not improving on it)

The PP...  I really dislike forwards on the point in the PP, like a lot. I don't think tonight was Wohlberg?  But it's always something I look for when their is a forward playing the point and I agree that it's something the team has to be aware of that regardless of who's on the point.

Also, Wow Minnesota!  I know this year's North Dakota isn't last year's North Dakota by a long shot, but they're still a good team and Minnesota swept them at Mariucci to improve to 9-1 on the season, 6-0 on the season, 4-0 on the road, 5-1 at home, sweeping Sacred Heart, and UND at home, UMD and UAA on the road and splitting with Vermont in Minneapolis for their lone loss of the season.  The Gophers are playing great early in the season.

Just looking at stats you can tell how good they really are. Minnesota has six players in the nations top 50 for scoring at 1, 3, 5, 21, 32, and 35. Add that to a top 3 defense and a top 5 goalie and you have what should be the nations best team.

Miami freshman forward Austin Czarnik (yes he's Robbie Czarnik's brother) who plays on their first line, got a 5 minute major for checking from behind and a game DQ.  Meaning he's out for the first Michigan game next wekend if the livestats are correct and it is a DQ and not just a misconduct.  He had 2-3-5 in 9 games, which puts him 3rd on the team in points and tied for second in goals.

And as I type this, Alaska sophomore Forward Andy Taranto take a 5 minute major and a game DQ for contact to the head, though that doesn't really affect Michigan...

Miami and Alaska tied 0-0 after one in Fairbanks.
