Game Observations

1. Tate looked great. Every long drive we put together was engineered by him. Denard's speed is a legit weapon this year. I just hope RR goes with the QB with the hot hand and doesn't keep rotating. I think we can use Denard's speed in spots, but Tate seems to be the only one at this point that can put a drive together. 2. I wasn't at the game this week, but the crowd seemed loud on TV. I would like to hear from people at the game to see if it was noticeably louder with the renovations. 3. Chalk one up for the D. This was my biggest concern going in, but they surpassed my expectations for today. Still a little unsure about the secondary going into the ND game, but I'm now confident G.Robinson will get the boys prepared. 4. Kenny Chesney? Seriously? Are they rollin with that the rest of the year? With the SEC joining forces with ESPN I have to believe this is just ESPN's way of pandering to their consituency(the SEC).

It's been said before, but today is the first time I've heard it in context, so I have to say: the Kenny Chesney is TERRIBLE. It's unbelievably badly out of place in a college football broadcast. Way to completely screw it up, ESPN.

was one of my favorite moments today. hopefully the 'other' 25% start to get behind him now. even if (we will, just saying if) we don't go 13-0 this year, he's putting it together.

I was there. I was not overly happy about the crowd noise but extremely happy about the outcome even tho I thought the outcome should have been more...like at least 50+ points I am excited about what Tate and Denard will do this year!

I too am very concerned about the secondary against ND. Hiller was able to light them up pretty good in stretches of the second half (see long touchdown pass) and I'm already having nightmares of Jimmah, Tate, and Floyd carving them up all day next Saturday. I'm really hoping GERG can get the boys ready at least as well as this week and we can get some good QB pressure against ND to help out the secondary; otherwise it might be a shoot-out... or worse. I have faith though, this is a new season, and it's looking very bright after today.

I was in sec 26 row 2... student section was as loud as 07 osu and 08 wisky when everyone got all excited during one western drive..... there were plenty of Rich Rod-Riguez (clap....) chants

Really hope Cissoko's injury isn't serious or else we're in trouble vs. ND's pass offense. With Warren and Cissoko we match up well but if we just have Warren the other side is going to be exploited. JT Turner really needs to step up. Wish Adrian Witty had gotton in too..

The two freshmen QBs looked really good. Denard was a little too run happy, but played pretty well overall. Tate was very impressive and looked very composed. He didn't make many mistakes at all. Junior Hemingway also had a very good game and could turn into an impact player this season. Koger made a few nice receptions as well. The offensive line made a few stupid penalties, but did a pretty good job of protecting the QBs. The defense played very well as a group. They looked pretty disciplined, played hard, and held a pretty good pass attack to one touchdown. One player that impressed me was freshman Craig Roh. Overall, it was a great team effort and the result was better than anything I could have imagined. Hopefully, they can keep it up next week against Notre Dame.

I just watched the first quarter and the start of the second. Denard telegraphs every throw and run. He stares down his WR/hole starting right before he gets the ball. This could lead to a few more fumbles on snaps and defenders jumping the play. Tate also missed at least one opportunity where he should have slid instead of dove. Let's get those fixed.
