Game Day Wake Up Thread

Submitted by WolverSwede on

Sometimes it feels like an eternity until the season begins, but today Team 134 will take the field.   This thread is dedicated to home opener morning traditions.  Here is mine:

  1.  Wake up
  2. Blast The Victors on whatever speakers I have available with absolutely no regard for those living with me.
  3. Crack first beer during The Victors
  4. Watch a succession of hype videos on YouTube.   This must include the Better Son/Daughter video because one must remember the bad times to appreciate the good.
  5. Eat pancakes

It's great to be a Michigan Wolverine.

Stuck at O'Hare waiting to take off for Montreal. MGo is the only thing keeping me sane right now. But once I'm there, off to a bar to try and find the game (suggestions appreciated, Champs?).

To work at the free clinic in Detroit this morning. So while you guys are putting back beers, I'll be taking vitals. Just remember that I'm a better human than you or something like that...

Well, after I clear the storm damage out of my back yard (multiple limbs down from last night's thunderstorms, including one sitting right on my house electrice service), I will have the pancakes, but the other things are in some state of completion right now. I've only been up about 45 minutes now, so to have blared "The Victors" and had beer in that space underscores the excitement.

Now that I think about it, how about beer and an omelette? Those may pair well together.

Happy Game Day, folks. Go Blue!

Quad espresso, Costa Rican Tarrazu, moderate acidity and caffeine combine with a solid body for a nice wakeup in the morning. Oh also I roasted it in my garage.

I'm up early today (central time zone) to mow the lawn before it reaches 100+ degrees.  I usually try to be polite and wait until after 8 am, but I already hear another neighbor who started mowing at about 7:20, so maybe I'll head out.

Today still doesn't feel real. Thank god today is gameday, the guessing and the pondering about the team will subside and we will start to get some answers about this football team

  1. Try to sleep early.
  2. Wake up at either midnight or 3am
  3. Make a huge coffee.
  4. Check MGoBlog
  5. Find best streaming site for Michigan game.  Get it ready.
  6. Check ESPN for updated scores and watch the end of a close game.
  7. Curse that I'm in Korea a little, but smile at the delight of the game in front of me.
  8. Go Blue.  Too often wake up the kids with my cheering/yelling.  Give wife sheepish smile.
