Game day gear for UConn

Submitted by Hail-Storm on
I just got my tickets to UConn today and am super excited. I want to support the maize out as much as possible and got a sweet number 5 maize shirt at spring game, I have to admit, I love my number 2 jersey and feel I only have 13 days a year I can rock it. My wife did get me sweet maize mich hat too. So my question to the Mgo community is, which do I go with? Support the maize rage look and give up my chance to wear the jersey or just go with the jersey. Thanks in advance for the feedback.

rock the maize, im hoping that somehow we can get all 109,901 which will actually be more around 114,000 to all rock the maize for the re-dedication of the big house

Maize outs are great, but I have an absolute obsession with matching the team jersey-wise on gameday.  I've never been to a game that was pre-designated as a Maize Out, so I've never been faced with the tough choice, though.  Of course, once we start rocking the Maize jerseys, it will all work itself out.

So this means the game is forsure Maize-Out? I'm gonna have to tweak my gameday attire schedule for the season then.

You could pregame in the jersey, and then replace it with the maize shirt just before the game. That way you get the best of both worlds.

And according to the tickets UConn isn't a designated Maize Out, but in my opinion every game should be a maize out whether it says so on the ticket or not.

For the really important games I wear my maize hat like how hockey wears the maize jerseys. Now that I think about it, Uconn is for sure one of the if not the most important game so I'll probably go maize shirt-maize hat.

Every game should be a maize out. I think it looks so good when the student section is all in the season T-shirts. Other schools can get the whole stadium in one color (even the off my lawn crowd), and we should be able to as well. I guess it means blue jerseys are out, but I think the look of a bright yellow crowd is worth it.

I saw a guy wearing a sheep costume once.  He was sitting right behind the opponents' bench (Illinois, for this particular game) and he was yelling insults at them, then saying "yeah that's right! you just got dissed by a guy dressed like a sheep!"

I wouldn't suggest that, though.
