"The Game 2006 ...Remembered" on BTN
Debuting right now from 9pm to 10pm. Anyone watching? I know it's incredibly painful, but I'm probably still going to watch it just because. "The Tie" that debuted a few years ago was incredibly painful too I guess but it was still somewhat enjoyable to watch at the same time as one got to hear Ufer's wonderful call when Franklin marched in the endzone to make it an extra point away from a tie-ball game, and also got to learn Ohio St's Cornelius Greene was and still is a complete class-act. This is going to be all pain, though.

It also is on at 3am to 4am tomorrow morning for those that want to set their DVRs.

C'mon. We can find better ways to prove Ohio State is a shitstain without calling Jim Tressel a cheating scum.

It's fucking hilarious that this delusion is still out there. Lloyd was completely exposed in that era.
Michigan won the turnover battle 3-0 in 2006. Do you know how difficult it is to lose when that happens? The chances are less than five percent. But hey, screw statistics that tell us that. Turnover advantage was no match for all the points their hook-ups at tatoo parlors and car dealerships were worth!

I have no interest in watching this.
Effing Shawn Crable.

I don't blame him; that was a very borderline call.
If I blame anyone, it's Ron English for that defensive gameplan (linebackers covering Anthony Gonzalez, ugh).
November 22nd, 2016 at 6:08 AM ^
Ron English made a nice career (up until his infamous crash at EMU) on the basis of good timing (getting the DC position at Michigan right around the time a bunch of future next-level guys were maturing). Somehow the Appalachian State debacle got overlooked.

Blaming Crable is easy...and dumb...just like blaming Ecker for the 2005 bowl loss is easy...and dumb.
There were several other incidents in both games that put Michigan in a position to lose.
Those incidents are simply the final, and easiest to remember.

Coming up right after "The Game 2006-Remembered" will be a hour long highlight video titled "Denied Glory - highlights from Bo and the Rose Bowl" Thrill to the exciting memories of:
- Bo suffering a heart attack the night before his first Rose Bowl thereby distracting the entire team the next day
- A torental downpour during a Rose Bowl for the first time in over 50 years making the field almost unplayable
- Bo's best teams not even being allowed to go because of the Big 10's rule allowing only one team to play in a bowl each year and the ADs conspiring to send OSU when they tied.
- Referees deciding that some field goal attemps in Columbus were just too damn high in the air and calling them "no good" even though they split the uprights
- Referees deciding the 3 yard line was close enough and signalling TOUCHDOWN even the ball never even got close to breaking the plane of the endzone.
- And best of all - watch Bo's last Rose Bowl where a non-existant holding call was made on a player not even in the game to wipe out a successfull fake punt that wouldn've been a brilliant and game changing play.
That show will be fun to watch too.

how the Cubs fans I know watched the Bartman 30 for 30 just because "they had to" even though they knew it'd bring pain. But I guess it worked out for them.

Still trying to forget it... watched it in Vegas, which was a terrible choice
November 21st, 2016 at 9:22 PM ^
I read this on rivals I think, someone was saying something about a new field and Michigan would have trouble slipping around. Sure enough the next day there was a new sod field.

And I have no interest in reliving it.

And the next year, Crable doesn't block anyone on our last second FG attempt against App State.
November 21st, 2016 at 9:54 PM ^
Actually he did block a guy, but there were two for him to choose from and he picked the one more on the outside when the one inside had a more direct path to the kicker (and blocked the kick).

I mean, I was there. The two weeks surrounding that game, from the week before through the game itself through the week after with everything for Bo... It was real enough the first time not to really want to "remember" it through BTN's lens.

No interest in any BTN programming this week.

I see Friday starting at midnight on espn classic is a bunch of Michigan-OSU games in a row, and it looks like half of them they're showing our Michigan wins

talks extensively about this on the show. He says it's bullshit to blame Crable. He pointed out that the defense gave up several big plays, which it hadn't done all year. If it hadn't done that, the Crable hit is a non-issue.
The show was really well done. I hated that we lost that game, but it was still easily one of the best editions of the Game I've ever seen.
November 22nd, 2016 at 12:27 PM ^
...to see another voice of sanity on here.
Woodley is 100% correct about the D giving up several big plays and that they would have reversed the outcome if the D had managed to stuff any one of them.
