Does anyone know when we might be seeing Gallon & Tuner on the field? Mod Edit: The ellipses were just too much. Headline adjusted.

I wish he were ready, because ND will obviously be testing us deep, but I don't think there is any way he plays. When Booboo went out there was agolden opportunity to get a highly-touted freshman some valuable reps before the Irish. We all know how that went, JT Floyd went in, and did not impress. I doubt they put in a true freshman who wasn't so clearly ahead enough to take the spot from Floyd in his first game against a top 20 team. Especially because we play two very weak teams the next two weeks. I'm hoping to see Turner get on the field then to prepare for MSU.

Let's hope we don't have to see much JT. As mentioned 89775875 times on this board about secondary depth. With Kelvin Grady and Odoms its unlikey to see much, if any, Gallon.

RR really stood up for JT Floyd this week saying that he has done great in practice and has been aggressive but lost that in the game last week because he was a bit overwhelmed as a freshman and that once he adjusts to the pressure RR expects JT Floyd to be a good player "the kid can play" paraphrasing his words.

to say that Floyd is bad with such a small sample size of 1 game. Obviously I don't get to see practice and such to make judgment. But hopefully it was gitters and nerves for his first game and he plays better this week. I mean he doesn't need to be a superstar, just be above average at least.

I don't know much about JT Floyd, but I do know somehting about playing sports. A freshman playing for the first time in front of 110,000 fans in what the entire fanbase knows is a statement game would very easily get a young man rattled. We only got to see him for a few plays so I will have to reserve judgement until I see more of him in the future. I am hoping, however, that I see JTurner some in the near future. As for Gallon, I agree with Magnus.

Floyd should be a safety. I'm not just basing that on last Saturday's game, but on his high school film and what I've heard from practices. I hope he has some success at corner and isn't a detriment to the team (from everything I've heard, he's also a good kid), but he's probably never going to make a positive impact at corner.

I don't think we would want a RS freshman (Floyd) and a first-time starter (Williams) playing safety. That would probably be disastrous. Woolfolk is a good player. He could probably start for some Big Ten teams at cornerback. Fortunately, we have talented corners and could afford (sort of) to get a good player on the field at a different position.
