Didn't see if Dileo ever got a shot. Was Gallon yanked after that flub? Can't believe that happened again.
will be michigan's highest pick in a while
Was one of the very few "flash-backs" from the last two year... Hold On To The Damn Ball.
Not sure if DILeo is the answer, a second shot by Gallon, T. Rob, or a healthy Hemingway. But Jesus, let's figure this out
Class of '97: 4 Years -- 4 Four-loss seasons
Wind is not an excuse for attempting to dive to catch a punt like Gallon did. He was clearly trying to make up for the play earlier when he didn't down the punt and it rolled to our 2.
When your team is winning, be ready to be tough, because winning can make you soft. On the other hand, when your team is losing, stick by them. Keep believing. -- Bo Schembechler
After all the emphasis on HOLD ON THE DAMN BALL the past couple of years, and considering the reports that Gallon didn't work super hard in the offseason, I was surprised that RR marched him back out there after the fumble. My first reaction was, "well that the last time he'll see the field for a while."
"There was a time I could have been mistaken for Burt Reynolds. I had a moustache and so did he. But he was the number one star in the world, so there wasn't really much confusion."
I like Gallon, it was just one play. Nothing to get worried about.

Gallon was in there the whole game. I was surprised to see Dileo handling the snaps on kicks, and on a related note, we never ever punted.
Yes we did. Hagerup was in there once.

My bad. I must have been distracted by the whiny old fart, two seats down from me, who never found one positive moment in the game. OBTW he thinks RR should be fired, imagine that.
But it was only when the offense got conservative, as the first half was ending.
We gotta get every one to hold up the "W" with their hands when he punts. Also, Gallon completely laid out for a ball that he didn't have much of a chance getting. I know that it was windy, but I don't really care for that decision. He did get the go even after doing that, so I hope for the best from him.
I have to ask, do we even have a special teams coach? and if so how can he not convince at least one player to return punts and kicks without fumbling it.
There was a lot of wind today that threw off many kicks. Gallon just misplayed the ball. He should have just cleared out the area and let it land instead of diving for it, but I wouldn't read too much into it. Overall, the damn ball will be caught.

knowing. Wind gusts, the thing is falling faster that you expected, you see miserable field position if you don't land it, and. . . voila.
...as the holder.

Dileo had duties holding on kicks; that alone is enough for him to work on, as a true freshman, in his first week of live-action college football.
no i believe Gallon stayed in after the muff.
