This is just an FYI, but a couple of hours ago I saw Desmond Morgan making his way through the diag on crutches. He had a brace on his leg as well. I have no idea what this means in terms of severity, just passing it along.
so much for that
Well luckily we've still got a ways before Fall practice
If you're doing nothing, how do you know when you're finished?
I hope it's not a long-term injury, but I do think WILL is the deepest single position on the defensive side of the ball. Aside from Morgan, we have a guy with starting experience (Hawthorne), a redshirt freshman that Mattison really liked (Poole), an early enrolled freshman (Ringer), and a highly touted incoming freshman (Ross). And if necessary, either Bolden or Jones could bump over to WILL from their backup MIKE spots.
Could Cam Gordon play there too? I would like to see both him and Ryan on the field.

Probably not. He's too big and I don't think he's instinctive enough. And aside from that, changing Gordon's position would create a void at the SAM position. Gordon and Ryan are the only two guys playing SAM right now, and all of the incoming freshmen were recruited for MIKE or WILL.
Guess that means Joe Boldin a get more reps as well.

Since spring practice is over, nobody's going to get any reps for another several months. Just ask Alex Herron.
Hopefully it's just a bruise. A good bruise to a ligament can keep you off your feet for a week or so but it's nothing big.
not all that concerned, fall is a ways away, and he'll most likely be 100% by then, and if not, I don't think there is any lack of talent at the LB position.
But but but..........Brian said there were no serious injuries.
It's just a flesh wound, I'm sure.
Could be anything from a sprain to a torn ligament based upon that observation. Let's hope for the former. A cast, btw, might actually be more reassuring, because that would imply a broken bone, which is more likely to be fixed and healed in 3 months than a torn ligament.
Obviously just a booboo
"Dream Big, Work Hard"
while it would suck if we ended up in a worst case scenario with him out for part, if not the whole season, i don't think there will be any depth issues regardless. demens, hawthorne, and ryan are all pretty capable. plus, bolden's had a great spring and ringer played well in the spring game. we will be fine at linebacker.
It's been a lot. Its been a roller coaster that for some reason seemed like it would never get good. But you know what? We kept fighting. It's like that old saying goes, "Those Who Stay Will Be Champions." -David Molk
They just decided he was too short. It's a Gattaca thing.
But lots of options maybe some better.
Section 10, Row 45
I remember seeing Barnum on crutches on a Monday last season and then play 6 years. Morgan's injury could be serious, but crutches are no reason to freak out.
What did he say? Or were you creeping?

We'll be fine because we still have 5 months.

I saw him being taken off on a cart at the end of the spring game. I didnt notice anything on the field. Hopefully its just a rolled ankle.
