Future Wolverines in the NFL

Submitted by WoodleyIsBeast on
I've been following the senior bowl and it is even more apparent to me that BG will go in the first round. Crazy production in college, a non stop motor and now a little extra film on him destroying other guys going to the NFL. Worst case scenario is that he barely slides into the second. In the past few years we've had Jake Long, Braylon Edwards, Leon Hall, Chris Perry and Marlin Jackson in the first. In the second round we've seen Chad Henne, Lamarr Woodley, David Harris, David Baas and Alan Branch. My question is who do you think will be our next 1st/2nd rounder? I thought if Donovan stayed another year he would go in one of the first two rounds for sure. It's still too early to tell on a lot of the young guys, but I could see Mike Martin ending up in the 2nd. Roh down the line, maybe Stonum? He reminds me a lot of Breaston. Both are tall, skinny, strong and durable. Obviously if Devin continues to grow he will be a commodity.

could be a good NFL player as a DE in a 3-4, sort of like a Cullen Jenkins. He's got enough speed to be a pass rusher, but not the bulk to be a NT/DT in the NFL.

I heard he has a good shot at going 2nd round. that could be outdated by now but he probably has a chance. Aside from him, i could see maybe Schilling or Martin going in the first 2 rounds over the next couple years. I know Kiper had both Schilling and Ezeh rated high at their positions for the junior class. I can't say I agree with Ezeh, but who knows?

Because this a fairly weak draft in terms of CB talent, I wouldn't be surprised if Warren sneaks into the late 1st round. It will likely depend on what his 40 time is. In any other draft though, Warren is a 2nd or 3rd rounder.

Some ceilings are higher than others, and I'm not *sure* any of these will be 1st/2nd round picks, but of the underclassmen last year I thought Koger, Roundtree, and Denard at least showed that type of potential.

In that list you have a guy who caught less than 15 passes and had a case of the dropsies, a guy who got caught from behind pretty easily by a mediocre Illinois DB, and a guy without a position. I don't think any of those three guys is going to be a first or second rounder anytime soon.

I didn't really put too much thought into them. Schilling came in as a five star guy and has moved all over the line. He's very nimble for such a big guy, so I could definitely see him going in the second. Koger has always kind of reminded me of a Big 12 or SEC TE. Big, strong, good hands, great blocker. Kind of like a Brandon Pettigrew, so yeah, that's another guy with pro potential.

Kinda funny not to nock him but Devin hasn't even played a college game and some of us act like he's a guaranteed All American. With that said here's to hoping we are all right.

in 2014 both Carvin Johnson and Ray Vinopal go in the first round(because both will red-shirt this year.) Also Jonas Mouton is a first rounder next year. He is going to be a beast in his second year in Gergs system.
