I wanted to start a thread about who we want to win for matchup reasons. But this SITE KILLS ME during times like this. Figure it out.
March 22nd, 2018 at 10:32 PM ^
Any experts on both these teams?? I’ve only seen one Gonzaga game against OSU and they got some good shooters. Haven’t really seen any FSU games. Any ideas on who would we match up better against based on style of play?? Seeding at this point means squat so don’t wanna hear that.
March 22nd, 2018 at 10:32 PM ^
FSU's athleticism is really challenging the Gonzaga D.
March 22nd, 2018 at 10:32 PM ^
Tillie is out with an injury for Gonzaga. Would love to play them if he's out for Saturday as well.
March 22nd, 2018 at 10:32 PM ^
Both these teams are playing very spastic. If Michigan can play with the same kind of confidence against either of these teams, we are Final Four bound.
March 22nd, 2018 at 10:32 PM ^
I prefer the path of least resistance. Cinderellas always disappear at some point
March 22nd, 2018 at 10:36 PM ^
Agreed - rest of tonight and all of tomorrow pulling for the lower seeds.
March 22nd, 2018 at 10:35 PM ^
FSU looks solid. some bad shots are very strange to see after watching a Beilein team
March 22nd, 2018 at 10:40 PM ^
If you ask me at this point in a still young game, Michigan can beat either of these teams, but it's weird to watch Gonzaga play somewhat confused and unable to run their offense in the way that they would like. Florida State definitely has them out of their element right now.
March 22nd, 2018 at 10:40 PM ^
I would personally rather play Gonzaga. FSU is deep and their bench scores more than their starters. Also, they are athletic and their center is enormous.
Gonzaga struggled in their opener and against OSU even with Tillie healthy.
March 22nd, 2018 at 10:40 PM ^
Now we see why we would prefer FSU...
March 22nd, 2018 at 10:41 PM ^
WHO'S A BETTER MATCHUP?! IM DRUNK!!
March 22nd, 2018 at 10:42 PM ^
FSU by far
March 22nd, 2018 at 10:45 PM ^
Gonzaga is a completely different team without Tillie to stretch the opponent's defensive.
March 22nd, 2018 at 10:43 PM ^
I'll just drop this here - what I'm seeing from Gondola-FSU, and KSU-UK, does not impress me. After what we just watched, these four teams don't stand a chance!
March 22nd, 2018 at 10:46 PM ^
Gotta play like tonight and BTT and they are capable of playing. If so, they are in title game. UM’s best vs. Nova or KU/Duke possibly, could be a dog fight. These teams on this side of bracket though, no chance IF Michigan plays their game....like tonight.
March 22nd, 2018 at 10:50 PM ^
If. We won't play like the first half of the A&M game all the time.
The good part is that even if MIchigan isn't playing its ideal game, our defense keeps us in a lot of situations.
Gonzaga using zone right now. Interesting.
March 22nd, 2018 at 10:46 PM ^
Williams from Gonzaga is gonna be a handful. He's creating a lot of fouls with his drives. We're gonna have to trap him and maybe double him as soon as he gets to the paint. Force him to pass it
March 22nd, 2018 at 10:52 PM ^
I'm assuming Tillie would be good to go on Saturday, correct?
March 22nd, 2018 at 10:54 PM ^
FSU presents A&M-type problems. After today I'm pulling so hard for Bunny Colvin's squad.
March 22nd, 2018 at 10:55 PM ^
That was a harsh take down!
March 22nd, 2018 at 11:03 PM ^
Let’s go Noles! Another more talented Zags team putting in a real poor shooting performance so far. Love the way this is playing out.
March 22nd, 2018 at 11:07 PM ^
Gonna be interested to see who we play. I’m off to bed, work at 6 am. Needless to say, neither team frightens me
March 22nd, 2018 at 11:19 PM ^
Gonzaga looks out of sorts, but FSU is also fouling at a high rate (15 PFs at halftime). That will hurt them especially if the Zags aren't afraid to be aggressive.
FSU is very athletic, but Gonzaga going 1-for-10 on 3s seemed like bad luck. This game should get tigher, but I'd prefer FSU simply because they're a slightly better version of the A&M team Michigan just ran out of the building.
March 22nd, 2018 at 11:20 PM ^
Hey, I’ll take some bad luck clearing a better path for us all day. Noles just gotta hang on for 20 more. They’re clearly the better matchup for us.
March 22nd, 2018 at 11:35 PM ^
we need some Beilein wizardry for attacking full court pressure. We kept throwing it into the corner and getting trapped there. Everything after that looked pretty good; when they managed to get it out of there, good stuff often happened. Otherwise, FSU looks somewhat sloppy and overly reliant on their athleticism. We can beat this team even without hitting 10 threes in the first half.
March 22nd, 2018 at 11:47 PM ^
I think we just didn't expect it from A&M. We'll expect it from FSU if we play them.
March 22nd, 2018 at 11:37 PM ^
when did "over the back" cease being a foul?
March 22nd, 2018 at 11:40 PM ^
is bringing back bad memories
March 22nd, 2018 at 11:45 PM ^
I live in Tallahassee; I've been to a few games this year. They turn the ball over a ton and don't shoot the ball from 3 very well. Somehow, they're a team that figures out how to win. They play pretty solid defense. They're long and athletic, but I think Michigan matches up really well with them. It always seems like someone different is stepping up every game. They are very streaky shooting the ball. Angola is probably their most clutch guy, which should be an interesting matchup for Z.
March 22nd, 2018 at 11:46 PM ^
How many layups is Gonzaga going to miss tonight? I feel like Florida State is the team of destiny. That is, the team that is destined to fall to Michigan in the elite eight.
March 23rd, 2018 at 12:04 AM ^
Sneed from K State just quoted Rasheed Wallace after he fouled out on a seemingly bad call and Washington klunked the first free throw. I haven't been watching, but with three fouled out, worries me if we see these refs in any of our games.
March 23rd, 2018 at 12:07 AM ^
guard the inbounder
March 23rd, 2018 at 12:09 AM ^
Talk about the ultimate parlay! All 4 cover. Will all 4 win?
March 23rd, 2018 at 12:10 AM ^
Gonzaga looks toast. They just can't get anything going offensively.
Not that I'm complaining. Gonzaga was the last team ranked ahead of Michigan on Kenpom on this entire side of the bracket, iirc. Thank you, 'Noles!
March 23rd, 2018 at 12:12 AM ^
Holy shit, K-State pulled it out. theres two 9's, an 11, and us remaining on this side of the bracket. LOL
March 23rd, 2018 at 12:14 AM ^
Yeah I mean look at these teams. Fla State is clearly better.
March 23rd, 2018 at 12:10 AM ^
Down goes UK
March 23rd, 2018 at 12:12 AM ^
I think root Zags at this this point. FSU is athletic and capable. Zags are are at best a 7 point dog
Zags would've been favored over us in Kenpom
March 23rd, 2018 at 12:13 AM ^
This tournament ate subs before it started last week. This shit is crazy! At this rate, I wouldn't be surprised to see Duke or Nova go down...
March 23rd, 2018 at 12:15 AM ^
the noles are athletic, but don't run any set plays on offense and turn it o ver.
March 23rd, 2018 at 12:19 AM ^
for things to turn out any better for us tonight. Now up to 47% chance to make it to the championship game and 17% to win it all per 538's model.
March 23rd, 2018 at 12:19 AM ^
for Gonzaga. Can't understand why they didn't start (non-flagrant) fouling earlier.
March 23rd, 2018 at 12:22 AM ^
Can't understand why Gonzaga went away from the zone. FSU has struggled all year against the zone.
March 23rd, 2018 at 12:24 AM ^
Turn into Bunny Colvin?
