I don't see why everyone is so surprised by this.  Take away Harbaugh and you have a Thursday night matchup of a mid-level P5 program that not many people east of the Rockies know much about vesrus a program that was 5-7 last year and has not been relevant for nearly a decade.

Of course they are going to focus on Harbaugh.  They are going to beat that angle to death.

If you were FS1, you'd do the same thing.

Imagine if Nebraska hired Bill Belichick and was playing Fresno State on Thursday night.  Where do you think the focus would be?

were smart, he'd get Harbaugh to become part of his business, Worldwide Pants Inc. Lettermen owns the righrs to the entire library of footage from the Late, Latre Show on CBS, which ended earlier this year.

Funny, how Khakis with a crease were a symbol of professionalism under Brandon, and now a sign of the times at Michigan under Harbaugh.

Agreed! This was the first thing I thought of when I read this. It's going to be fantastic. Now, who on the mgoblog staff is the poor sap who has to record that feed and make GIFs out of it?

So much obsession over a guy that hasn't even coached a game at Michigan. No doubt it's quickly making Michigan one of the most hated football teams.

You're avatar features a shirtless Harbaugh. You are part of the thing you're criticizing :)  Neither, Michigan nor Harbaugh controls what the media does and how to it chooses to cover Harbaugh. Correct, Harbaugh hasn't done anything at Michigan yet, but the media coverage is resulting from the fact that Harbaugh was a superstar NFL coach with outstanding results and has a charismatic, entertaining personality. Oh right and he turned around two college cellar dwellars in short order. He's media gold such that when he bombs an interview it's still national sports news.  Such a coach making the unprecedented move to return to college at his alma mater no less is one of the biggest stories in college football in years. Harbaugh himself once said that if they are writing bad things about me I know I'm doing something right. For what it's worth, only the fans and haters are driving and feeding this hype train. Tellingly, the players arent doing any talking or hyping. They are diligently working they're asses off and exhibit a calm, humble, confidence that can only signify good things.  We'll do our talking on the field soon enough.  Let haters hate!
