ND-UMD is underway.  1-1 early.  Gary Thorne (ugh) and Barry Melrose (double ugh) on the call.

how epic did UM's power play look compared to UND? not a lot of scoring opportunities but UM came down the ice almost Mighty Duck style and i actually muttered aloud how much more congruent and quality it looked compared to the past 2 periods of 5-on-4 Sioux hockey

Michigan let UND control the pace in the 2nd, and really should have scored if not for Hunwick's acrobatics.

Need more offense, more sustained pressure...less time in the defensive zone. Michigan better come out better than that in the 3rd, or else I fear that luck will end.

Melrose refuses to question anything North Dakota does.  He succeeded in trashing Michigan and telling us how great ND played, despite them LOSING 1-0.  ESPN - wow.

UND is fast and allowing them to penetrate to almost the top of the face off circles is a recipe for disaster. Make UND dump the puck by standing up sooner, i.e. create a wall at the blue line.

One thing I noticed about the ND band: Nice job memorizing your music dumbasses. They only have one song to learn and they couldn't even do that.

Side note: Nice job Michigan Band.

Little secret:  the Michigan hockey band uses flip folders.  I was in hockey band for 3 years and I memorized all my music all the time, and I was just about the only one who never used my flip folder.

That being said, absolutely, our band sounds great tonight.  And Pasquale's maize dress shirt/suit combo is fly as hell for a skinny white dude.

Red taking a page out of the Habs playoff book last year, no attack, absorb all pressure.

Got to be a little more O-minded to pull this out, can't hold them off forever like this.

Very impressed with UM's positional play defensively, very very sound.
