Lots of UMD gear out in Duluth today, and the coverage from local news outlets has been excellent. Considerably better than in 2011, if my recollection is accurate (though it may not be since I was more concerned with the other half of the bracket that season).

To answer the coaching question in the OP, I've mentioned Montgomery from Denver as a candidate, but I doubt he'd come. Jeff Jackson, meanwhile, is Red Berenson's kryptonite. If Montgomery beats him I may or may not suggest that the AD sell Ferry Field to the highest bidder just to hire the guy, likely or not.

I have a UMD bias today, obviously. But the only real priority is to keep Denver as far away from 9 titles as possible. The fact that BU, BC, Minnesota, and North Dakota are already out has made this tournament a rousing success in my book.

Agreed. That 1994 Michigan team was just like the 1997 bunch - probably the best team in the country and didn't win the title. We had just beaten LSSU in the CCHA's and hen turned around and lost to them in the NCAAs (I believe it was in OT) in 1994.
Conversely, we won it all in 1998 when we clearly weren't the best team but rode a hot Turco and some regional fortune at Yost to the title. Beating North Dakota there might have been one of the best games ever at Yost.

Its weird to be so disconnected from the tournament this year. Even in past years when we missed it, we were still a bubble team so I was invested at the end of the year and watched the tourney. Truly couldn't have told you the four Frozen Four teams before just checking the score a minute ago

Basically good news except I don't get the emphasis on Eastern Lake Erie. With St. Paul getting it next year, though, this looks kind of like the floated five-year rotation that includes the Cities, Detroit, Boston, and a couple of free radicals. I enjoyed Buffalo in 2003, FWIW, except for the overtime.

Last game in hockey band senior year was the Duluth championship game in OT. I'd prefer not to think about the Frozen Four until we are back.

I got my company's UC Corporate box for the finals and can't find anybody who can go.  One ticket available.  Free ticket but you buy my beer.  First one in wins.  Provide a method of contact.
