I'm at B-Dubs in Brighton wondering why the the yoopers are pounding more beer than the locals.

We love our beer, but don't need the baffled looks from the waitress

had a a Grapefruit Sculpin. now cooking a yummy pasta thingy and having a glass of Duca d'Amalfi Valdadige (pinot grecio/chardonnay blend from Italy)

It's one of the best IPAs when fresh. The problem for me is finding it fresh.

And every single soccer Dad thinks it's awesome...I personally think it's ok. Problem is when people never leave the area, they don't know how many great beers there are around. The Grapefruit Sculpin is actually really good though. I am partial to the citrusy IPAs, and this is pretty good. light enough to not be heavy but good flavor.

Sweetwater 420 is an APA not an IPA, and it's pretty meh in my opinion (like most Sweetwater brews). Their new Hop Hash offering is quite good, though. There's much better breweries in the Atlanta area than Sweetwater. Orpheus, Burnt Hickory, and Three Taverns to name a few.

Great Lakes Octoberfest to start, followed by one of Summit's experimentals, Herkulean Woods, which is a lager with spruce tips and maple syrup. The former is excellent (I discovered it last fall), the latter pretty good.

I decided to crack open a Rochefort 10 that I had been cellaring for close to 2 years. A world class beer that has definitely mellowed out a bit. The 11% is not noticeable anymore.
