Submitted by SuddenlyKitties on

It's Friday, and another week is in the books.  I've got today off to drink beer and watch the tournament all day.  GO BLUE!

Yeah, most of it was stuff that has been long-staged in the basement that we brought upstairs a few days ago in preparation. This includes probably about four or five shelves worth of the kids' old books, many of which they passed up long ago, but it is mainly clothes, shoes, jackets and things like that. There are also two working VCRs and the final load of VHS tapes in this haul, which means that we'll be free of another thing that took up quite a bit of space.

Of course, the kids saw the bags of toys finally last night - "I need those toys!", pointing to things they haven't played with since they were three or four.

You shouldn't feel too badly about that long overdue discipline. Seemed well deserved to me.

More importantly, Go Blue! Plenty of Michigan action to follow this weekend—not just men's hoops vs. Texas. There's also women's hoops in the WNIT, baseball opening Big Ten play at Indiana, and women's gymnastics going for Big Ten title #21.

I think I'll watch a little basketball over a leisurely lunch today, then head to my buddy's house for some nice scotch, basketball, and non-meat pizza (it's Friday). Don't know what to do tomorrow until 5, though.

your "Double Post ACK!" has more upvotes than your original post.  IOW, your screw-ups are more highly valued than your actual contributions.  Keep up the good work!

(FWIW I posbanged both posts.)

It's another snowy day in Syracuse.  Fortunately, I have a mountain of work to do to keep me occupied until the games start.  I'm a bit torn about rooting against, Duke, though, as a victory over them is integral to my redemption bracket, which has us beating past opponents Duke, Louisville and Arizona to get to the finals.  Wait - F that.  Go Mercer!

As quoted by Bill Cosby: "Giving birth is like stretching your bottom lip over your head" (or words to that effect).

If his wife stands up in the stirrups and reaches for his face, that might be a good time to sit out the rest of the delivery.

put too much faith in those measurements.

My eldest daughter was 11 lbs. 2 oz. at 36 weeks and they wanted to do a C-Section.  She ended up coming out natural at 39 weeks at a mere 8 lbs. 1 oz.

Son was supposedly going to come out around 10 lbs.  He was 7 lbs. 12 oz.

Youngest daughter measured 9 lbs. 6 oz. at 38 weeks.  Came out 8 lbs. 4 oz.

Feel like the ultrasound techs/radiologists are way off.  Or maybe we were going to a meteorologist???

I have restarted a tradition I maintained from 1985-1998.  Buy a ton of beer, chips, and liquor - take Thursday afternoon through Friday off and then spend Thursday - Sunday in my basement watching basketball, drinking & eating junk for four straight days.

This year my brother has come down from Michigan to join in the basketball-basement highjinks.  Avatar wife comes down from time to time to watch when Michigan is on but is otherwise pretty much doing "girl things" this weekend.

Until I'm in Vegas.  Hopefully Michigan will be getting ready at that point for a Sweet 16 matchup with UMASS (my wife went to school there so would be fun to have a little family war break out) or Dook (rekindling an old rivalry in a non-Cameron setting).

In the past I always went to Vegas for the first 3 days of the tournament but the logistics this year didn't work out.  So it's on to Plan B - Vegas for the Sweet 16/Elite 8, and the iPad at work streaming all the games in Rounds 1 and 2**.

** I refuse to acknowledge that yesterday/today is "Round 2" and tomorrow/Sunday is "Round 3."  I don't care how many times CBS uses that nomenclature - I'll never capitulate!

Man I'm feeling old reading all these posts. I'm excited to give my 4 year old daughter the Frozen DVD we bought her for Friday movie night with the family. I'm just glad we played last night or I'd have some explaining to do! Everyone have a drink for me tonight!!

Just ran through the thread (and Nosce Te Ipsum's 6 pages of the same comment). I definitely saw old Section 1 get loose with the hate and anger but he still has 16,000+ points (and for that matter Nosce still has over 6,000+). Generally I thought trips to Bolivia involved negative numbers.
