I watched every game possible the past years. Looked forward to them too. But it's different this year, this expectation that they will look like a solid team. Maybe cohesive is the word - everyone looks like they know where they are supposed to be. I'm expecting for them to look good against a lesser opponent rather than just hoping for it.

After a short flight and an overnight at friends, I'll be at Dominik's enjoying a tasty pre-game beverage with old friends before kickoff.

You have to wonder if, at this point, UNLV hasn't at least attempted to gauge Randall Cunningham's interest in coming to the game to watch and - if they should need the help - play a few snaps, eligibility be damned. I realize that Cunningham is in his mid-50s at this point, but I asssume that it is their belief that if Harbaugh can possibly do it, so can Cunningham.

In any case, it has been a long week where I've had to be all over the damn place, so I am looking forward to a day or work where I can sit there quietly, be in no meetings, get things done and then leave the building as quietly as I entered it. After that, the normal weekend of football and  occasionally asking the kids to "Be nice to each other" as I wave them away from the TV.
