FRIDAY POSBANG

Submitted by BLHoke on
Surely when the Beavers come to town, collectively we must bang?! Cheers to the weekend! Cheers to the first win of the Harbaugh era! And a special cheers to my brothers and 2 nephews that made the 900+ mile trip from Mississippi to Ann Arbor to witness the special occasion in person at The Big House!!!

My Ucla friend is saying Chris Clark may be homesick, looking to transfer. Some posts on their site alluding to him being back home as we speak, may have left the team? Interesting to say the least.

I get to see my daughter briefly this evening after her first week as a U-M student! That's a good way to end a very busy week of travel and a welcome break before next week's travel marathon.

Apologies for possibly bringing down a Friday Posbang thread, but . . .

Fourteen years ago today, at this hour, I was sitting in my office in Manhattan on a sunny Tuesday morning. . . . Within minutes, the city, the nation and the world changed dramatically.

For those who lost loved ones and friends, all those first responders and other people who moved quickly and courageously to help, and all those whose lives have otherwise been forever altered because of the events of that day, in memory of those thousands of innocent people who died that day, here's wishing you peace, comfort, respect and love.

It still hurts, the images still vivid after 14 years. I can still smell it, it was that powerful. Many on this board were just children, some weren't yet born, so it may be difficult to understand just how much that day changed this country in ways good and bad.

For years I would put the roll call on in the background, every year there is a boy who lost his father who reads his name and says Go Blue. His father was a student in the first class I taught at UM, a smart kid with a bright future. That boy should be almost college age now, I hope he winds up in Ann Arbor.

Happy Friday before the first home game and WIN. I will be screaming like a fool when Coach Harbaugh and the Team take the field (and the Band, too!).

Go Blue!
