hey guys, hello from up north. power is out and it's -29.9 up here. we are blessed b/c I installed a generator that automatically kicks on and runs on propane when we bought the farm 10 years ago, but my rural area neighbors could be in some serious trouble right now. they know we have the genny and I have told them all when the area loses power (which we do somewhat frequently up here in the hinter-lands) that they are always welcome in case of need. I may get in my truck and go door-to-door to see if there is any critical issues.

You sir, are a Michigan Man.

In the past whenever friends who aren't Michigan fans brought up what the term "Michigan Man" meant, thinking that only graduates of UofM can have that moniker applied to them, I would try to explain something like this. You're smart and prepared and use your abilities to help others.
