Friday Night NCAAFB WVU @ UCONN

Submitted by formerlyanonymous on

This game has been so bad that it's been exciting. WVU is doing everything they can to fail horribly. About 11 minutes left in a 3 point game. You should watch.

This is Big East football, basically not very good. Not very exciting. No tradition. It also shows what's happening at WVU post Rod, they get worse every year.

just proves that the Big East is WEAK....all the 3 and outs, dropped passes, and penalties by both teams is driving me nuts...I am not gonna lie- this is tough to watch....

Well, after WVU fumbles on the goal line in overtime it looks like it will work out for UCONN.

I wasn't home until halfway through the 4th.  How did Frazer get in the game?  I thought a freshman was going to start?

Edit:  According to the box score Frazer played the whole game.  Now looking at Uconnblog, I was apparently thinking about last week. http://www.theuconnblog.com/2010/10/21/1766205/endres-no-longer-a-husky-box-will-start-saturday  Box (the redshirt freshman) was ruled out for this week because of a concussion.

Where's the guy who was talking about how great Syracuse/Shafer are because they were able to beat West Virginia?

I was thinking the same thing.  Look at WVU's stats all season, and you see an offense that cannot move the ball outside of Devine.  Let's see how the Orangemen fare against a slightly better Cincy team.

Slightly better Cincy team? How do you figure? Schedules are comparable, but the only common opponent Cincy lost to by 8 and WVU beat by 2 TDs.

As far as Syracuse, it's still a great win for Syracuse to beat WVU. As of a year or two ago, there was still no way they'd win that game. The way they beat WVU was not crappy football like was played last night. Their win was clean and convincing on the defensive side. They've still got some growing issues on offense as they switch back to a more traditional system, but that's not the side of the ball winning them games so far.

No kidding.  WVU has just been pretty much terrible all season.  This is a WVU team that lost to Syracuse and should have lost to a terrible Marshall team earlier this year.  That was the game where the Marshall kicker missed the FG in overtime (it went right over the goal post).

Bill Stewart is a really nice guy, but in no way is he a good football coach.  He's in way over his head, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him fired after this season.

When your defense holds a team to 16 points, you should expect to win.  My, how the WVU offense has fallen.  I know that White and Slaton are gone, but that was ugly.

I'm shocked that this has happened with Stew at the helm.

Really?  I don't think many people who have paid much attention to WVU the last several years are particularly surprised by it.  Stewart was handed a boatload of talent and did very little with it and then proceeded to fail to fill in much talent behind those players.  Devine and Sanders, as freshmen under Rodriguez, were far more productive players than they are as seniors under Stewart.  That really says something.

Man that was a painful game to watch.. neither of those teams can move the ball..

Frazer has got to be one of the worst D1 QB's i have ever watched in my lifetime personally..  If they didn't have todman my god would that team be abysmal

Wow that is a fantastic thread. My personal fave:

Stewart is by far a better man than Rich Rod.  And Stewart by far has better intentions than Rich Rod.  BUT Rod is WAY MORE OF A COACH.  I never thought I'd say it but if he gets fired from Michigan and makes a public apology, I'd take him back.  It'll never happen but I'm just saying.

Uh, guys? I think if RR gets fired from UM he's not looking to return to WVU, 'kay?
