Colorado really sucks
Colorado really sucks
Man, even on replay... that guy came out of NOWHERE. Who is that guy? He wasn't on the team when I was interning in Toledo's Sports Information office a couple of years ago. Opelt and Collins were, but not him.
Sensational INT! Toledo is taking it to the entire Hawkins family...
They'll be singing with Ernie Hawkins before the night is over.
Honest question: has anybody ever seen a team fall apart this completely during a game?
I was going to say Wisconsin last year, but I guess they almost tied it there at the end. Actually I also remember in 2007 Colorado played Iowa State and looked to have it away after the first half, and it was all Iowa State in the second half. I remember being pretty pissed about it ha
Do my eyes deceive me or has Toledo just put up 50+ on a Big 12 team. Any bets on whether Hawkins lasts out the week?
Division 1 Football? Big 12?
This is ridiculous. Seriously.
"I have heard that people in CO think that Hawk is on the hot seat, and I just don't think that's anywhere close to true."
Rrrrright. I think this is the only risible thing I've ever heard out of Franklin's mouth.
jeeeeeeeeez when it rains it pours
Either Beckman is the greatest coach of all time, or Hawkin's career is OVER.
Or something close to both.
I thought CU would put up a fight in this game. How wrong I was...
Okay, I'm curious. OSU will be coming to Toledo after the USC game. May be interesting... My early predition 51-50.
If it were in the Glass Bowl, I'd actually give Toledo a slightly fighting chance. However, that game is in Cleveland at the Browns' stadium, so no dice.
That will be an unofficial OSU "home game".
Purdue 52, Toledo 31
Colorado just sucks.
Am I naive or something else to believe the state of Ohio would never allow Toledo to beat OSU during the Tressel era?
Maybe there is some historical example, but during the Tressel era?
Colorado showing signs of life again. If they actually manage to win here, that would simply be amazing. On a more realistic note, I'll give them credit for continuing to fight this late when they're getting blown out.
Toledo has their third teamers in.
Cody Hawkins just got destroyed on a helmet to helmet hit. Did you see him walking off the field? That was pretty vicious.
I feel sorry for Hawkins. Hope he's OK Classless head-hunting by Toledo. No need for that whatsoever.
Anyways, I'm now rooting for Colorado. Crap.
Dude - he dove headfirst into the endzone. Sometimes that shit just happens.
I don't think it was the LBs fault. Hawkins was moved by the other player and the hit ended up being lower than the other player thought it would be.
The announcers creaming their pants over this is, quite frankly, inappropriate.
"We're all just killing time now"
Best quote I've heard from a football announcer in awhile.
Unless the Buffs pull some sort of magical turnaround, it's hard to imagine Hawkins getting another year. They've actually gone backwards since he got there. It doesn't help that there are more than a few CU fans who think Cody doesn't deserve the starting spot at QB. Incompetence + nepotism is never a good combination if you're a coach. I thought he was a slam-dunk hire, but he's been a huge disappointment. First Dirk Koetter flames out at ASU, and now this... what is it about BSU coaches moving up? I wonder if Peterson will break the trend...
That was awful, right down to the last play.
...actually, after the last play. I have no ties to the Buffaloes, but it sort of pissed me off to see Cody walking around on the field smiling looking for someone to high-five. I didn't play Division I football (IT'S THE BIG TWELVE!!!) but when we got our asses handed to us in high school we sure as hell didn't stay around looking for someone on the other team to give some props to. Come to think of it, we only saw a few players in that shot, but you wouldn't have known from the body language that they just lost to a MAC team by 30 points. Some major attitude problems in Boulder.
(I know he had just taken a huge shot, but if one of us had a concussion we were under direct supervision of a trainer who made sure we got back on the bus without falling over.)
Sad how far Colorado football has fallen particularly for a school that won a national championship in the 90s. Interesting to see how some of those teams that won in the 90s have fallen. Gtech and Nebraska seem like they're bouncing back, but were down for awhile. Miami and FSU had a couple of rough seasons and are still struggling to get back. Colorado and Washington have both completely imploded.
uhh...kind of awkward...well...we might want to rethink making statements like this for a little while...right...hopefully we beat Notre Dame tomorrow...yeah
On a completely unrelated note, it's 2:00 in the morning and my dorm hall is really loud (which is the main reason I'm on this site). As I type this, the RA has finally gotten annoyed enough to shut them up, so I can go to sleep. Yeah, this is generally an hour that I post weird crap at. I should probably stop. Right...
And the noise has just picked up again. Ahh...the wonders of alcohol.
Touche. I was actually thinking more of the early 90s and all. Obviously everyone knows Michigan and UT were down last year, but many often forget Washington and Colorado won national titles not too long ago.
