Friday night former players event. What went on?

Submitted by James Burrill Angell on

In the massive swarm of coverage of this weekends football events (which must last us the better part of four months) did anyone hear anything that came out of the Friday night former players only meeting. Curious what Brady had to say to everyone.

Love Hoke, but definitely getting tired of this line.

A lot of questions seem to be swarming around the Michigan program, would you agree?

Yeah, Jim there's no question... there have been a lot of questions.

I listened to Inside Michigan Football Radio Show and Jim Brandstatter asked him more about food than football.  Hoke actually had to ask him to keep it to football.  Granted there has been a lovefest, Hoke is a fine shade of cardboard and the Fort is back - but if you want a good answer - you have to ask a good question.

Borges in contrast is very well spoken...yet he doesn't say much either.  If Hoke keeps up the "There is no question..." response, maybe it will push the media to ask more exacting questions to begin with.  You can't say "There is no question..."  when a reporter asks "What is the most important take away from the Spring game? without saying what he thinks.   (BTW the answer is Royce Jenkins-Stone.)

This coaches and the media are still finding their feet.

I heard there was a massive counterstrike LAN party followed by some Worms Armageddon. Desmond like the baller he is was popping caps all night long while chugging Moon Mist and gnoshing on some pepperoni hot pockets.

I heard he showed everybody the two countdown clocks and screamed "what time is it?" over and over again.

Anybody who answered 10:25pm had to immediately leave the room.

The players dug up Bo's grave and used his body to conduct an elaborate séance in which they encircled Hoke and tried to channel Bo's wisdom and personality into him. They were all wearing their graduation robes and old single barred football helmets with maize jerseys underneath.

Lloyd Carr led it and implored Bo to give Brady a "tremendous tenure" as Michigan's coach.

That, or they went to Blimpy's.

for helping  runn RR out of town and allowing him to nearly triple his salary.  Then he apologized for the boredom of the spring game some of them would sit through the next day.  This was followed by the explanation- we haven't learned to run the power play yet so that is all we have worked on in practice.
