Friday Night College Football Thread

Despite last night's ugly football and uglier endings, I'm not satisfied yet. I still need more college football. Tonight's docket has two games on TV, only one any of us can probably see:

Tulsa @ Tulane (ESPN, 8pm)
Central Arkansas @ Hawaii (Oceanic PPV, 1am)

The Hawaii game makes me sick because it reminds me we're playing Delaware State this year. Sickening. As for Tulsa @ Tulane, conference games to open the season tend to offer some intrigue. The Golden Hurricane's offense should be electric as well. The spread is around 14 or 14.5 in Tulsa's favor. O/U is around 62. I'm thinking Tulsa beats the spread and we see the under.

I pay no attention to Tulsa or Shavodrick Beaver since he jumped ship. Will he be playing tonight?

Word on the street is he's not their starter. Their media guide lists him third on the two deep fwiw.

Apparently the guy listed first was a transfer from Texas who was pretty well ranked (4*). I just found that two deep right before I posted it. I really have no idea either. 15 til kick off day 2

I thought our injuries were bad, they just said Tulane lost 17 players to season ending injuries last season. That's absolutely insane.

Scratch the idea that this game would be better than last night. Tulane takes a timeout on the second play of the game because they don't know what they're doing. This could be a long game.

Hopefully these ugly games calm peoples expectations for Michigan tomorrow. We are not going to see a finished product. I am guilty as well, predicting 200 for Carlos Brown. Tuned into Tulsa to see Beaver, maybe in the 2nd half.

#40 shed his block really well and stood him up one 1st. #43 shoots into the backfield almost untouched. Great coverage of the option by the entire D with solid tackling. and #5 got the 3rd and 4th down tackle. Great D by Tulsa. EDIT: also horrible blocking by Tulane

This game is the exact opposite of exciting. Even that punt return could have been better. Maybe it was the lack of excitement from the crowd or the announcers, but it just felt very bleh.

I thought the same thing. In live feed, I thought he was 2-3 yards past. The replay looked like it was legal though.

If Michigan's talent would play to the level of Tulsa tonight, I'd feel very good about the season. Tulsa's QB managed the game well. Their defense shed blocks and tackled well. I'd definitely take that. Also, I would have loved if Kinne would have transferred to Michigan. If Tate ends up like that, many Michigan fans will be happy people.
