I feel like Iowa losing helps our Rose Bowl chances, but Iowa rolling sets up their ability to knock off MSU next week...but what if PSU does the dirty work for us tomorrow, but what if things don't go well for us tomorrow....My brain is spinning

I'd love to see the upset, but know in theory that Iowa winning is good for us either way - perhaps being better against MSU/OSU or a better win for us.

Part of me can't believe I'm watching this boring Iowa team be #4 and 11-0. I feel like it's a joke. Like how Donald Trump is still a viable presidential candidate. "Ok guys. This was funny 3 months ago but it's time to cut it out."

I can't believe ND is ranked so highly having exactly zero good wins. Even if they beat Stanford, do they have a better case than Baylor, Oklahoma state or Ohio state or any other 1 loss team? Sure their only loss is to the number one team but even if they win this weekend they will only have one win against a top 25 team.

I'm not going to care...because I can spin it either way for Michigan. It's just about us winning and MSU losing tomorrow. We'll see where everything else lands.

You're right..if they win, they can keep MSU out of the playoff AND it would look better for us if MSU loses and we beat Iowa.

If they lose and lose in the B1G Championship game...Michigan could easily sneak into the Rose Bowl even if we don't play in the B1G Championship game (MSU would be in the playoff).

My story about Michigan Football:

Chile is good. Add beans and hot sauce. Mmmmmm! Every try it with cheese? Wowie, so delicious. Have some bread with it too.

It's great to hear Peppers and Lewis talk about getting that degree. Watching Arkansas now and they have a player that flunked out of Nevada and then again from a Junior College and getting a degree from Arkansas.  Not knocking getting his degree but raises questions about what his degree is. Would have made this a separate topic but not sure how.

I'm still trying to figure out how good Iowa is. Their most notable win is against 8-3 Wisconsin, which they won 10-6. But that game was M00N like in it's ugliness with turnovers and missed points. Wisconsin basically handed that game to the Hawks by fumbling away a handoff at the 1 yard line late in the 4th quarter that would have given them the winning score.

It's nice to have a conference title game but I don't like that a team can get there by playing 12 unranked teams.

...but if I'm honest, we're an overrated conference this year (just not as overrated as the SEC this year).

We'll probably do well in bowls, but I'm sorry, these just don't seem/feel like elite teams. I just think college football is down as a whole.

MSU, OSU, Michigan and Iowa are all 9-3 type teams. None are elite.

NW and Wisconsin feel like 7-4 type teams. PSU and Minnesota 6-6 level teams.

MSU beat a gimpy Oregon, got a lucky punt, and sleptwalked through a shit schedule. OSU REALLY played no one (not their fault VT sucks).

I think that's why there's been so much craziness with the playoff this year. We really only have 2 teams worth being in the playoff this season. Everyone else can be beat rather easily.

It's made for a fun year...but no one is elite.

I think even we over achieved this year but so did msu and osu. Any other year/schedule all 3 would be 9ish win teams. Iowa is solid but they'll get pasted by anyone close to the playoffs, as would msu and (hate to say it) UM. Same for osu but they can get hot and look respectable, IMO. By far the most talented team. Sadly, I'm just waiting for B1G teams to go full B12 and run crazy offenses as their defense. It's coming and I've predicted that msu starts in that direction next year. It's too tempting. Anyway, yeah, there aren't any dominant teams this year but Bama is closer each week.

It strikes me that Dylan Utter must have some fun with his name in huddles on occasion. Before the came onto the field on this series, for example, he turned someone into an "Utter Lewis". Of course, this is probably not the first time someone has made that observation and I assume he would be tired of it by now.

Rooting for Iowa because it really does only help us IMO. As long as we win the game tomorrow we should get a New Year's 6 Bowl. If PSU can then pull the upset it's better to play a higher ranked Iowa team.

That being said they need to get their stuff together. Haven't looked good thus far and penalties have been the difference.

Can't believe it's almost the end of the year.

Probably not worth its own thread, so I'll post it here:
