Frey Interview and OL clips
New OL Frey interview at Mgoblue.com
76 Quinton Washington just looks massive and in shape too. Its hard to believe that that kid is a true freshman. He is going to have a great career at UM. 77 Lewan looks good too.

Quick question if anyone knows the answer...the Michigan press box announcer seems to be announcing the plays at practice during the scrimmages, you can hear him in the background.... is this something new that they put in this year, to keep up the intensity and realism? I like it, its cool.

I had to replay that like 4 times to make sure it was what I was hearing. I like it, too.

Some good footage of a couple big plays the offense had in pads. A fairly long run by Shaw, and a nice touchdown pass by Forcier.
Also, if you could rename this thread to include Countdown to Kickoff in the title, that would be nice... Congrats on beating me to it though!

Frey sounds like a demanding SOB. Won't crack a smile or praise his line yet.

Shaw looked good right there. It'd be nice if we could go right on cheering all the time for RB #20.

Seems like a no nonsense coach. He rarely smiled and didn't really say his line was looking good. I'm sure he works those guys really hard everyday.

to let Frey take a bunch of players to a summer camp for kids with cancer right before 2-a-days start. I'm sure Jim Carty will cover that aspect of the program extensively, because as Jim says, RR is only about football, football, football, 100%/24/7/365. Deplorable is what it is.
Looks like Frey has a wicked-looking scar running along the base of his neck right above his t-shirt. Anyone else notice it?

Frey sounds like a total bad ass. That scar is something else, it looks like he was decapitated and they reattached his head! As former O-lineman, I would love to play for this guy. He has that attitude that you need to have to be a successful O-lineman, namely be an ornery prick.

I was wondering about that scar. I wasn't sure if it was a tattoo or a scar (same thing I guess) at first but that thing is definitely a scar. And yes, it looks like he was partially decapitated some time ago haha.

He got that when he tried stealing Barwis' pudding cup.
August 19th, 2009 at 12:05 PM ^
the rest of them are looking lean and mean. Washington will be a monster after a year or so of down-Barwising.
August 19th, 2009 at 12:16 PM ^
Agreed. With him next to Lawan in a couple years, teams are going to shit themselves. I cant wait to see how the Barwis effect is going to transform our O-Line into Buckeye-Bashers, Spartan-Slayers, and Gopher-Tokers.

Well this was the first Countdown to Kickoff video that I watched and felt less excited for the upcoming season after seeing. Coach Frey certainly is stingy with praise and excitement, hopefully he is just trying to avoid coming across as overconfident.
